Beats Studio Pro: Why does my Headphones contain epoxy all over solder joint and on wire

Evidence I thought I would have been able to remove the main wire, but sadly I made a terrible discovery. All the solder joints and entrances of the main wire are covered with epoxy. I tried melting it away but it didn’t work.

Beats Studio Pro: Left Speaker Emits Static when ANC on

I have a pair of Beats Studio Pro over the ear headphones. When the ANC is on, the left speaker emits constant static. It gets drowned out when music is playing, but if I'm listening to something like a podcast it is impossibly loud. When the ANC is off, the static goes away. I'm thinking it has to do with how the ANC microphones loop back, but I haven't had a chance to break them open and check the connections. Has anyone else had this problem?
