Avanti 308YWT: Fridge defrost timer wont advance

Defrost timer wont advance. I can manually put the timer into defrost mode and it will defrost and put itself back in cooling mode, but wont advance back to defrost ever. I dont think its the timer itself as I have tried about 3 new timers and the same thing happens. What would cause this?

Avanti 308YWT: Chemical smell coming from refrigerator and freezer!

What can give off a chemical smell from freezer similar to burning plastic or something. There was never anything old in there and I've removed everything and placed into our second refrigerator a few days ago and still smell it. Maybe it's a refrigerant leak? It's been like this for a week so I would think that the refrigerant would be gone by now. It cools and works fine but has a strong chemical odor.

Okay, so our fridge is not working and we’ve had three technicians from Sears to come and look at it. The first guy said it was fine (which it obviously wasn’t.) The second guy said we needed a new compressor and the third guy installed the new compressor.

Anyway, so our fridge is still not cooling or freezing, even though we have a new compressor. The lights inside work and the temperature inside is at room temp. Sears said we have to call whirlpool since we’ve already had three repair men come look at it. We’ve tried calling whirlpool to repair it themselves but they will charge us outside of warranty for some reason just to look at it, even though the fridge is still in warranty.

So we want to fix this problem on our own. Any suggestions?

I have an older model Kitchenaid Superba and the refrigerator has stopped cooling. The baffle door closes and won't reopen. I can open it manually, but when the refrigerator gets cool it closes and doesn't reopen. At first, we were told it was the motherboard so we had it repaired, now we're being told the compressor may be going bad. All the lights wok, the ice maker works, the dispenser works, the freezer is at 0, the compressor runs but the damper baffle does not reopen once it closes, evaporator fan is operating, fan behind fridge is working

Thoughts?

GE GYE22GYNIFS Fridge was making ice and water before the filter change now it's not. There is water to the filter though and it's making noises like it's trying. Any suggestions

Whirlpool fridge not cooling at all. Fan is on. Condenser is working. Checked back. But no cold air at all?? Could it have no Freon ?? Please help on the verge of throwing it out.

The magnetic strip inside the rubber part of the seal is tore on both top and bottom corner,in this case will i better to replace entire seal or???

When I plug in my fridge everything works like it should. But once it reaches proper temperature and the compressor kicks off it doesn’t come back on unless I unplug and plug in again. What part could be the cause of this fault?
