AT-LP60X: Tone Arm is Lifting at the beginning

I have a AT-LP60X-BK Turntable. When I press start the tonearm moves over the record in the start position but when it drops on the record it immediately comes back up and parks and turns off. Is there an adjustment to fix this?

Audio-Technica AT-LP60XUSB: brand new, never run before

I am having the exact same issue. This is a unit that was left, along with other AV equipment when I bought the house. It had never had the belt engaged over the drive pully (red ribbon still attached). I attached the pully, made sure it was right, and made the turns on the turntable. I get the mechanical click when i press the start button, but that is the only action. Repeated the rotating reset several times with only the click resulting. Again, brand new, never run before. Any ideas?

Update (01/27/24)

Another YT vide showed how to manually reset but that did nothing. With no turntable or belt on, I can make the drive pully spin if I give it a little "push". However can also stop it with very little pressure. Once the belt is engaged, no amount of spinning the turntable will start things. So, I have power, and the motor is not dead, but seems to lack any power. Again, this is a never used AT-LP60. About to chunk it.
