<title><![CDATA[Asus Zenbook UX32VD: Upgrade from 720p to 1080p display?]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I was wondering if I could upgrade my Asus UX32VD-R3001H 1366 x 768 resolution display with the 1080p screen replacement version without changing anything more.</p>

<p>I know that there's a version of my laptop that comes with the 1080p screen (also in matte finish) but I don't know if it has different cables/connector.</p>

<p>I appreciate the answer, because I have a bright spot on my screen and I want to replace it soon.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Asus Zenbook UX32VD: What to do when iSSD fails?]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>I have UX32VD.</p>

<p>I used to use my iSSD as a second storage partition. Now it died.</p>

<p>Until a few hours ago, I was running windows 10 preview. Here follows what I have done and my problem</p>

<p>1 - Removed the HDD and replace by SSD Saumsung EVO 850.</p>

<p>2 - Tryed to do a clean install of windows 10, it ends in an infinit loop and never reaches the installation menu.</p>

<p>3 - Tryed windows 7, the same problem.</p>

<p>4 - Tryed Ubuntu, it runned, showed several errors due to iSSD failure but installed and runs normally and very fast.</p>

<p>5 - Tryed to put the HDD with win 10 back, windows won't start.</p>

<p>My problem is the following, I don't want to be stuck with ubuntu, I think that I have not been able to install win due to the iSSD that is reconized by the bios that is already on version 214, the last one available on Asus website.</p>

<p>On ubuntu, sometimes iSSD is recognized sometimes not. But never I am able to edit partition or whatever.</p>

<p>If anyone can give me a hint on how to solve this problem. I have also contacted ASUS, but as my laptop is no longer under warranty I am hopeless on their solution.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Asus Zenbook UX32VD: Anyone know if it's possible to upgrade to UX32LN motherboard?]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>My UX32VD motherboard is in need of a replacement, so I figured I might as well take this chance to upgrade to the newer UX32LN motherboard (i5-4210U vs 3317U, GT820m vs GT620m), seeing how both seem to have exactly the same motherboard layout and chassis. More importantly, the newer version doesn't come with the built-in iSSD that is prone to fail over time.</p>

<p>I've looked around the Internet and so far I've found no indication as to why this wouldn't work. If anyone has any insight into this it would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Asus Zenbook UX32VD: Continual reboot, cannot get into BIOS]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>UX32VD was running fine, but hard drive was full. I cloned the drive to a 2TB SSD and fitted it in place of the hard drive.</p>

<p>The machine booted, but half way through Windows startup, it reset, then it reset again and again... Since then that's all that happens when I turn it on. I see the Asus screen, hear the music, after a few seconds, same again, repeatedly.</p>

<p>Whatever keys I press, I'm unable to access BIOS.</p>

<p>I tried reverting all the hardware back to pre hard drive upgrade, with no effect.</p>

<p>Sent to Asus for repair, but it's out of warranty, they said it needs a new Mobo costing over £700. When I quizzed them, they said they never diagnose faults, just replace the mother board or whichever major component. Anything else costs them too much time.</p>

<p>Anyone ever seen this or has any ideas?</p>

<title><![CDATA[Asus Zenbook UX32VD: Asus Zenbook Pro 15 - Water on it]]></title>

<p>I am freaking out. First time with ASUS. Got it back in March. Screen don’t even show on anymore. Sometimes I see light on and I hear fan loud then it goes back off. Gave it to a computer repair place to see if they can save it and repair cause am worried plus I don’t have any rice at home.</p>

<p>Im also thinking of getting additional warranty on it when I get it back and I’m just sad . I love the way computer looks and all and I’m just so frustrated and wonder how is repairs done and if computer will look different.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Asus Zenbook UX32VD: Where I can buy new audio jack and/or hdmi port?]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>My audio Asus zenbook has issues with the Audio JAck and HDMI port. both currently work only in certain position and clip every now and then if moved even a bit. I have been trying to find new output jack and hdmi port but without any success. :( would be great to have spares as the computer is physically ok otherwise.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Asus Zenbook UX32VD: Problem with SSD/HDD or both - freezes]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>My notebook started getting the occasional &quot;Your PC ran into problems :(&quot; messages after i upgraded to Windows 8.1. I ignored them. 3 days back the notebook just froze - the mouse would not move. I waited for 2 mins and then pressed the on/off button to reboot. The same thing happened twice that day. The next day, the freeze happened but this time the mouse was moving - but there was no action when i pressed the buttons. Keyboard wasn't responding either. I noticed then that the disk access LED was not blinking at all. i rebooted. The problem repeated again in 2 mins - no disk LED blinking and all frozen. This time I rebooted and backed up my data first. Then i read about the SSD/HDD and Intel Rapid Storage (IRST) stuff.</p>

<p>I rebooted the machine several times to find out when/why the probem happens. I have now narrowed it down to the following:</p>

<p>- when i boot, the laptop starts fast.</p>

<p>- IRST shows both SSD and HDD</p>

<p>- a few moments after, either when i have clicked the browser icon or otherwise, the laptop freezes, disk LED not blinking</p>

<p>- if i wait patiently for 3-4 minutes, the laptop miraculously wakes up</p>

<p>- IRST shows only HDD present (screenshot attached)</p>

<p>- after that the laptop runs perfect.</p>

<p>Thinking that this could be a result of Win8.1 upgrade, I have rolled back to the factory settings of the UX32VD like I bought it 2 yrs back. The problem continues.</p>

<p>The problem is repeatable easily.</p>

<p>Is this related to the SSD or the HDD or neither? Please guide. Thanks much!</p>

<title><![CDATA[Asus Zenbook UX32VD: What device or adapter could I buy for 4k support]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Is there a preferably compatible adapter or other device, which would enable the laptop to output in 4k - via Mini Displayport?</p>

<p>My monitor supports 3840x2160@60hz via Mini Displayport, but only @30hz via HDMI. However: the built in HDMI is useless in this regard.</p>

<p>Since I am perfectly fine with the performance other than the HDMI output, I thought perhaps there is some USB3.0-compatible device I could use for that matter. Or do I have to buy a new laptop altogether?</p>

<title><![CDATA[Asus Zenbook UX32VD: Will this replacement battery work fine?]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>About four and a half years ago I bought an ASUS UX32LA-R3019H, and while most things still work fine, the battery life now got to a point where I can barely use it as a portable machine anymore. So I ordered a replacement battery from an unofficial reseller and found a guide on how to open the laptop and change the power source. The process itself was quite easy (just a few screws for the case and battery) and I quickly replaced everything, but then I noticed some differences:</p>

<p><strong>Old battery:</strong></p>

<p>While the new battery has the same part number, it’s rated for 4400mAh instead of 4300mAh. There are some other small differences as well, and I’m starting to get worried that this might be a different part. The laptop also has trouble to wake up from sleep or properly shutdown after upgrading to Windows 10, and I fear that these problems combined with this new battery could result in some damage (or worse, cause an explosion). <br /></p>

<p>Will this replacement battery work fine? Are there certain things I should do before using the laptop again (fully charging the battery, etc.)? Or should I just live with the subpar old battery to be on the safe side?<br /></p>

<title><![CDATA[Asus Zenbook UX32VD: Screen change/update for ASUS UX32VD]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I have this laptop with a 1366x768 res matte screen and I need to change it (screen having issues, half of the screen flickers and turns white). The original screen has the model number <strong>InfoVision M133NWN1</strong> (matte lcd screen)</p>

<p>I saw in previous posts that it is possible to update the screen to a 1920x1080 high resolution screen.</p>

<p>I found on internet that the <strong>N133HSE-EA1</strong> model is compatible with this ASUS model, but this is a matte screen (TFT LCD). In the Teardown guide I saw it is possible to use an IPS screen, but these screens have the <strong>N133HSE-EB3</strong> series number. Is this  IPS screen still compatible with the ASUS UX32VD?</p>

<title><![CDATA[Asus Zenbook UX32VD: UX32VV Adapter Repair Attempt]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>The plastic protection on the tip of the adapter pin was broken. I didnt realize this and plugged it in.</p>

<p>The adapter doesnt work now, the power jack is ok and the laptop charges well with another adapter (a friend has the same laptop).</p>

<p>Can the adapter be repaired? I live in Argentina and cant get a new adapter from asus :/</p>
