Asus ZenBook UX303U: Just installed a new battery. However, it turns off when unplugged.

I installed a new battery using this guide (Asus Zenbook UX303L Battery Replacement)

I let the battery charge to full then turned it on, but when I disconnect the laptop from the power supply, it dies immediately. Windows says my battery is at 100%, and I followed tips online (uninstalling the battery adapters in Device Manager, using Window's troubleshooting tool).

Did I possibly not connect the battery to the motherboard correctly (but why would I see the 100% battery)? What can I do to fix this problem?

Asus ZenBook UX303U: What m.2 ssd can I install in this socket? Asus zenbook ux510uw

This is the socket. I want to install a m2.ssd its a Asus zenbook ux510uw. I’ve been reading and came to the conclusion that I can only put an m.2 SATA ssd (which is fine) however when I opened the laptop I saw that the port has only 1 hole

like the one on the left in the picture, and the ssd I wanted to buy has 2 holes like the one on the right. And most nvmes have only 1 hole(left) and SATA ones(right) have 2 .

So my question is what can i put it the slot in first picture Sata with 2 holes? or nvme with 1 hole?

Asus ZenBook UX303U: Asus Zenbook UX510UX possible dead li-ion and CMOS battery?

Hello all, I come to this amazing forum since I couldn’t find answers for my problem myself. The laptop is actually model UX510UX, not UX303U, I selected that as there was no option for my model.

Some weeks ago the laptop suddenly started hard shutting down whenever the battery percentage would reach 40%, and stopped booting when disconnected from charger, would only reboot when connected. The battery won’t charge (Windows displays “0% - charging”) and using a battery health tool, in a few days the health percentage went from 70% to 24% and now it’s back again at 56%, so I don’t think that’s valid information.

I already tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, and pressing power button for some time to perform a reset, but to no avail. Also the date and time don’t refresh when the computer is off so that makes me think it’s also a CMOS/kts battery problem.

I contacted Asus support asking where to find the CMOS/kts battery inside the laptop and of course they couldn’t help me, I tried looking for it but it doesn’t seem to be placed on the external part of the board where it would be visible. I don’t really want to dismantle the whole thing and potentially messing up only to not find the battery anyways.

From your experience, could it be possible that the cmos/kts battery is inside the li-ion battery case, maybe that battery is also dead too, so replacing that will solve everything? Or what other solutions would you recommend trying?

Thanks in advance.

Asus ZenBook UX303U: re. Notebook UX430U flashing light does not go off after shut down

Hey there guys..

This is a question about an Asus Notebook UX430U (I could not find it in the list of models I´m afraid)…

When I shutdown the laptop a light continues to flash on the side - it has an image of a light bulb next to it. Any ideas what is up with my laptop? It did this in the past, so I took it to the repair shop, but all they did was reset it (and I lost everything on it).

It is happening again. I don´t think it simply needs a reset as I did that very recently. Any other ideas??

Thanks so much

Amy

Asus ZenBook UX303U: What battery to purchase?

Hey, I’ve got a ASUS ZenBook UX303U, and the laptop is dying pretty quickly now.

Assuming that I’ve had the laptop I assume it’s just the battery going bad. I found the post on there describing how to replace the battery for this laptop, but I couldn’t find anything stating which battery to buy, or where to get it from.

ASUS states that they do not sell a battery for this laptop. So which battery should I buy for this laptop?

Thanks!

Asus ZenBook UX303U: Sad addition for zenbook ux410

Hi

I have a zenbook ux305 which my mother-in-law has drowned with a glass of water.

I am planning to replace with a ux410.

2 questions please:

(1) can the memory & ssd from the ux305 be taken out & added to the 410? I think the memory may be fixed to the, motherboard but I think the ssd is removable. I believe the 410 has a 2nd hard drive slot - is the ssd from the 305 compatible? Note I want to use a 2nd drive, not replace the one already there.

(2) does anyone know if it's advisable to use components from a water damaged computer in a new computer? Obviously I'll make sure the ssd & memory are completely dried out beforehand!

Many thanks.

Will F
