I use ASUS TP550LA, core i5, windows 10 with 12GB RAM. I am experiencing a weird issue. If I use my laptop daily, it runs fine for 30-40 mins before the screen light goes off (even though the laptop stays on). Kinda like 99% dim screen, so pointing a flashlight at the screen shows everything is there (like the apps, youtube video running, browsers etc.).

If I do not use the laptop for 3-4 days, then it runs fine for 3-5 hours straight after turning it on. Then the same issue again if I start the laptop the next day.

You see, what I'm dealing with!! Even my nagging (to-be) wife doesn't play around like this. I hate the word fiancé, cause nagging goes so well with wife. You can't beat that.

Anyway what might be the issue with my laptop? Is it a graphics card issue or something else? You think it's a easy fix or need any parts replaced?

Hi,

My ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP500LA won't turn on at all. I've tried pressing and holding the power button, tried pressing all the keys, and still nothing.

I've checked the power adapter and there seems to be nothing wrong with the adapter. I bought a brand new one and out of the box it doesn't seem to charge my laptop or help it turn on.

Is it possible it's a problem with the battery? Please help!!

After charging the device for many hours, it will not power on. When plugging in the power adapter, the device does not register a charge. I try to power on the device, and nothing happens.

Asus batteries have this flaw that if a battery is unused for a few months, it completely dies and can't be charged. This apparently has to do with a "safety system" in the battery's controller.

The battery in question was brand new, installed by Asus. But the laptop was unused for a prolonged time. Is there a way to revive it? I even opened the area where the controller is. Can anyone please help?

Thanks. How many volts should the power source be. Where can I get a power source. Can I apply directly to the internal power pads of the battery? The voltage for the first three pins is 12.5, the next two are 3.3

ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP500LA: Why is my laptop overheating after only a few minutes of use?

My ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP500LA has been overheating way too quickly recently and that has me worried it may cause damage to it if this keeps up. I'm not sure what's wrong, although I suspect that it may be that the fan is not working but I'm not sure how to get to the fan. Is there a way I can access the fan in order to possibly replace it?

My keyboard abruptly stopped working, and I've tried charging it, and the light turns orange. However, nothing happens, but every once in a while, the blue light randomly flashes. Bluetooth says paired, device manager says working properly.

My keyboard has pretty much stopped working. With the only way it works is if it’s at an angle/ slightly closed. Even tried using a different Asus transformer T100 keyboard.

ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP500LA: Why do my USB ports constantly connect/disconnect when on AC power?

This is a two-part question. Both parts are directly related.

1.) When my device is charging (AC Adapter plugged in), my USB ports don’t function properly. Devices with a large current draw (I.E. my iPhone) constantly connect & then disconnect. Low-power devices (I.E. usb mouse, flash drives) function fine.

2.) When I unplug my device from AC power, the USB ports function fine with all devices, but my screen flickers.

I’ve eliminated the possibility of this being a software bug, it happens even in BIOS settings & on multiple OS’s.

I have a feeling this is something to do with a ground issue, or a power circuit, but I don’t even know where to start when it comes to those things without proper information. Which is why I’m here.
