Asus TF300T Tablet: How to disable the touch screen functionality in an Asus TF300T Tablet

I have a cracked screen and the tablet doesn't react to touch any more. I believe it's fully functional otherwise so I bought a docking station in order to make the best of the mini HDMI port and connect my tablet to the TV permanently and control it via a USB mouse.

However, I was disappointed to find out that although I can see the mouse cursor, after connecting the mouse, I am unable to click anything because the tablets touch sensor seems to be completely out of whack. Once, the on-screen keyboard activated by itself somehow, and I saw that the touch sensor is 'clicking' randomly on many spots of the screen at once and it's impossible to do anything with the mouse.

I saw a video on Youtube of a guy disabling just the touch screen functionality on his Nexus 7 by disconnecting one small cable once he had opened the tablet.

Is such a thing possible in the TF300T ? I am sitting right now, with an opened tabled and watching Youtube videos with disassembly instructions, but I cannot find this one thing that would help me because they concentrate on either replacing the whole screen or on complete disassembly.

Asus TF300T Tablet: White section on LCD

Hi,

a white section started appearing on the top of the screen.

There also is a small crack on the screen itself (not on the digitiser) and a small leak, partially visible on the right side of the photo.

Digitiser itself works alright.

Also, no part of the displayed area is missing due to the white section. The displayed area is just fully resized to the working part of the display.

Photo: https://pasteboard.co/GNdWu5v.jpg

Would it be broken LCD (due to the crack)? Or a cable / connection problem? Or other hardware problem?

Thank you,

Asus TF300T Tablet: WiFi authentication no joy.

My pad worked 2 years ago, before it went into storage. Now, it connects to a public WiFi, says it is strong, but the WiFi requires a password. When I enter that, it repeats the same log in screen, and never accepts the password. I have an iPad that accesses the WiFi fine. 2 years ago it was able to get on wifi’s no problem if public or private. One message does pop up when this happens, but it is gone in a flash.

Tried the typical turn off WiFi, reboot, airplane mode, reboot,, not sure what else to try.

Thanks for any input.

Fairly certain the charging port on my mother's Asus TF0310 Transformer Pad is going bad again.

Apps stopped responding and then it quit. Wouldn't turn on even after being charged. It sat for a week, recharged it but took about 10-15 min for any apps to respond. Then worked so I did virus scan and cleaned it. Worked for an hour, quit again, charged it and still it won't turn on
