Asus Rog GL530VM-B17N13: My laptop will not turn on after disassembly

Hi.

First: sorry for my bad English.

I have problem with my laptop.

After I tear down my laptop because USB port won’t load any USB’s in it nothing was popping up so I decided to tear it down to see what’s the problem. After I tear it down I did not see any problem with USB ports so I put it back like what it was before I tear it down.

After that laptop didn’t turn on anymore and I don’t know what is the problem even I did not change anything in it.

Asus Rog GL530VM-B17N13: Keyboard LED lights turn off after no use for one min

Hi guys, I got an Asus Scar III and the keyboard lights disappear when I don't have power. Is there a way to stop this? Also, the AURA pattern changes by itself, very annoying as I just want it on the one patter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Asus Rog GL530VM-B17N13: What fan models does this laptop use

I've been trying to replace the fans in this laptop, but I've been having a lot of trouble figuring out exactly which fans it uses. Apparently there are two different fan models the laptop might have, depending on... Various factors. I'm not sure what those factors are, or how to figure out what model my fans are.

Asus Rog GL530VM-B17N13: Guide for re-pasting and cleaning

Hello,

I bought my Asus ROG GL503GE back on November, 2018. Since the last couple of days, the left CPU fan is making a faint buzzing sound, and the temps aren’t that great as those were before. I am thinking of cleaning and re-pasting my laptop. I am planning to use Noctua NT H1 for repasting.

So here are the questions:
1) Should I use isopropyl alcohol to rub off the old thermal compound? I heard some say that using alcohol might damage CPU linings (don’t know what they mean).
2) After disassembling the laptop and removing the power connector, is it a good idea to press the power button to drain the leftover charge from the capacitors inside?

3) Which order should I remove the screws from the heatsink? Are there any numberings on the screws?

I haven’t messed around with disassembling laptops that much. I would like to know the proper guide to remove various connectors inside the laptop. If there is any good thread/video about that, please share :)

Asus Rog GL530VM-B17N13: No power, no led, no POST. Replaced Motherboard, same issue.

I have a ROG STRIX GL530VM that overheated. The machine would not boot up at all but it would show a charging LED. I tried everything and couldn’t get it to respond. So, I ordered a ‘known good’ replacement and swapped out the mainboard. However, now it’s worse as I do not even get the orange charging LED.

Thinking it might be something with power delivery I replaced the DC charging input, the AC adapter and main battery as well as a brand new CMOS battery. Still get the same, no response.

I pulled the motherboard again and re-checked the LED connector and it appears to be seated properly with no visible issues with the ribbon cable connecting.

I re-pasted the processors with Thermal Grizzly paste and ensured it is properly seated. (even if it wasn’t I would at least get fans spinning up).

All repairs are done by myself; A+ certified IT professional of 25 years. On a computer workbench while wearing an ESD strap.

Any thoughts on what else might be the issue? I reached out on the ‘new’ motherboard since it is under warranty but I feel like maybe I missed something unique to these units that I am not familiar with.

Asus Rog GL530VM-B17N13: Asus GL503VD shuts down after few minutes.

Hello!

Few weeks ago my laptop shuts down on me when on battery. It happened like 3 times a week, but it wasn't big issue for me. I thought that this is battery problem.

Few days ago it shut down when on AC first time. It was getting worst and worst.

Now it shuts down few seconds to few minutes after boot.

I checked RAM, swap hard drive, swap SSD, checked on bootable Linux, on battery or on AC or on both. I made cold resets, checked on different operating systems. Everytime result is the same. It shuts down sooner or later.

I made also stress tests. Time which it take laptop to shut down is not corelated with amount of procesor load.

Any ideas what is wrong? Later I will reload BIOS, because I noticed that sometimes the CPU temp. shown in there is 0°C.

PS. 4 months ago I spilled beer on the laptop, but I reacted very quickly, disassembled it and checked everything. I was under impression that water didn't hit motherboard.

Thanks!

edit: I fixed it by flashing older BIOSes multiple times.
