Asus ROG Phone II: How to safely remove a battery that ripped open during removal?

Hello there,

I have attempted to remove my phone battery after looking some infos online but did not have isopropyl alcohol on hand, and thus when I started to lift the battery and tried to remove it with my "Jimmy", I ended up damaging and ripping open the battery which was held too tight by the tape, and it briefly caught fire so I stopped and put my phone outside for now.

I looked up afterwards the iFixit video which recommends to keep the battery at low capacity and obviously forgot to do it so for now I'm leaving the phone outside with hope that it discharges slowly by itself. My question is : how can I safely remove the battery now that it's open on a side ? Is there any risk in using rubbing/isopropyl alcohol and end up having some potentially reach the opened side of the husk of the battery ? This phone is expensive and I have a lot of important data on it which I do not want to lose...

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Asus ROG Phone II: Why is my phone not coming on?

After using my phone, I placed it down to do something. The battery was about 40% at that point. When i picked it up to use it again, it was not coming on.

I put it to charge for a while and the red light blinked for a few seconds and stopped. The phone did not come on.

I tried hard resetting but it still did not work. (Vol up, vol down, power button)

I saw a suggestion that said to hold the power button down while it charges but that just causes the red light to blink once every 15 seconds or so.

I sent it to a shop for diagnostics and was told that the battery and the digitizer was not the problem and the possibility is with the motherboard. The phone still does not come on.

Can you verify?
