This started at Aug 16 around 2am when I was running after effects in my laptop. I noticed how it was running laggy so I tried shutting it down to make it run smoother. After shutting it down I left it off for the rest of the night. The next day (Aug 17 around 10pm) I tried starting my laptop and it won’t turn on at all but is still charging.

Things I have tried that did not work:

1) Held the power button for 30+ secs while charging

2) Took off charging and waited about 30mins, then I tried to turn it on once and tried holding the button again

3) Took off the battery pack at the bottom, held the power button for 30secs, placed the battery pack back and tried turning it on again

4) Took off the battery pack at the bottom then held the power button for 30secs, plugged the laptop to charger without the battery pack and tried turning it on

5) Cleaned the dust in charging hole and battery pack area (basically cleaned my laptop)

At this point, I’ve seen people write that they just left it alone for 3-4 days and it worked again. So I’m probably gonna wait until I get an answer here

I've following problem. After an windows 10 update my keyboard backlight stopped working, i've tried to reinstall ATK package and nothing special happened. It would not light even when i start the laptop, i pressed FN+F4/3 many times, i saw it tells me "Brightness up"; "Brightness down" and nothing happens. All FN + button working.

I changed a power setting on the ROG Center, a few weeks prior. After two days, My laptop had an update and had begun to freeze and did not work further-- till I'd have to press the power button for it to be usable. It now does this this every 24 to 36 hours (estimate)?

I close my laptop almost every day and I dont know if that's the reason. But, i started doing some research then realized: It could have been the ROG center. So i thought, okay, simple fix, I'll just revert those changes.

NOPE. The button does nothing but, show that it's processing on my mouse/arrow.

I'd wait a while, nothing.

I'd restart my cp, nothing.

I don't know what to do.

Please help :)

The computer works fine except for the touchpad being completely dead. I haven't been able to find a picture of what it should look like when attached.

Any help is appreciated! I'd rather fix this myself than take it in someplace.

Images of reattached ribbon wire - my partner slid it in metal pieces up but the touchpad does not work. There's no clip on this attachment.

This is the side that remained attached to the motherboard.

UPDATE:

Looks like we slid it in upside down, and I think the pins are now bent. Thinking I need to replace the touchpad now. There seems to be no way to slide it in and taping the ribbon wire down doesn't work.

I thought it wasn't really a big deal since I always use it with the AC, but recently when I am gaming the laptop just turns off. I can turn it on right away - so it seems it loses power for half a second or something, which is enough to turn it off.

Seems like my battery serve another purpose than running with no AC. And it also provides extra current during high demand usage like heavy gaming, and also carry my computer through brownouts. In my case this prevents me from actually using the laptop for other things than browsing...

I have tried to uninstall the battery drivers, tried holding the power button on for 60 seconds. Next step is to reset to factory, and reinstall windows 10. Would also like to flash my BIOS, but I guess I can't do that since my battery is at 0%.

Anybody managed to fix this without opening the thing and replacing it with a 100 euro battery?

The laptop is not turning on , the power indicator does not light up even if charging . The laptop flashes the power light for a brief second at the moment the power is connected and goes dim again ...

Sometime i just let it sit for 4-6 hrs and it generally starts to work again , the laptop is currently not turning on

I have tried unpluging the laptop and holding the power button for a minute or two , and when i connect the charger and try to start it the power light just flashes and the laptop does not turn on .. please help

I have also tried the hard reset when the battery is removed ...

I have look at the forum for any possibile solution .. i have also replaced the motherboard but the same problem persists ...

EDIT: in bios the touchpad is working so its not a hardware issue

I have an ASUS GL503VD laptop and I have an issue with the battery.
The BIOS shows that my battery is 91% charged but when I unplug my laptop, it just stops…

The percentage of the battery is always 91% and does not change at all.

What I tried :

• Factory reset
• BIOS reset/update
• Driver reset/update
• Open the laptop to unplug/plug the battery connector

Can someone help me to solve this please ?
