Asus Q534U: Bad memory, can't find where all of the memory is located.

My Asus Q534U has 12GB of memory. I’ve been experiencing memory errors in Windows 10. I ran the Windows Memory Test program and it indicates there is indeed some bad memory. Does not show any useful information (typical Microsoft). I opened the LT and pulled the 4GB memory and reran the test. It still shows a memory error, so I’m assuming the 4GB memory is OK. Where is the other 8GB of memory? I can’t find it….

Asus Q534U: How does the touch screen control boards work within q524 series?

Noticed there are different types of touch screens (symmetrical vs asymmetrical connectors) and touch control boards to match them. Along side them the same cable goes to some sort of IR sensor board, and the webcam then to the motherboard.

Long story short I was replacing the touch screen on a symmetrical connector laptop without knowing theyd be different and received an asymmetrical screen assembly. I got a few different control boards even one that should match the model number and the y axis is reversed for some reason.

I was wondering if I had to replace/get a matching IR board and cable as well? As they seem to differentiate too but… at a loss, have lost so much money trying to solve this : (

Havent found much information on which should work with which.

Asus Q534U: How to replace lcd screen

I actually have the asus q524u which I believe is the Best Buy exclusive model? This is the only asus laptop I’ve found with the same hinge/case setup and is probably very similar.

I have some cracks on my lcd screen behind the digitizer. The digitizer glass is perfect and touch works perfect.

I have ordered a new screen that should be here in two days but I can’t seem to find any tutorials on how to disassemble the bezel and screen, I’d hate to have to guess and break clips off or worse.

If anybody has any experience please advise! Thanks!
