Asus Q524U: Can it be repasted?

My processor is constantly running at 100% and my laptop is getting very hot very quickly. I know Asus isn’t know for using good thermal compound and I’ve also had this laptop for around 7 years so either way, it’s due. Does it use standard thermal paste or something else like thermal pads?
