I have a loose touchpad asus laptop which has a rattle sound when you tap on it. I watch YouTube to find a way to fix it. The YouTuber who stick a tape on touchpad tactile button which will make loose away. Which tape is good to stick on tactile button. I am not sure which electronic tape does he use. Is electronic tape durable for a long time use. Thanks

Asus Q501LA: Lid Switch Location and Teardown

Laptop will not go into Sleep mode,HIbernate,etc when Lid is closed. All drivers,etc are up to date,so it's not a driver issue.

I have read where there is a magnetic switch that can go bad. Anybody know where the switch is and tear down instructions to get to it?

Asus Q501LA: How to Remove Hinge Cover?

Hey!

I have an ASUS Q501la and am trying to replace the back cover of the LCD. While I was able to successfully pry most the LCD from the back cover (Shout out to Karl E for explaining how to pull the LCD away), to complete the job I need to remove the plastic hinge cover, which regretfully was not covered in Karl E's explanation.

After attempting to remove it myself, all I have succeeded in doing is breaking the clips on the right side of the hinge cover, and would like to avoid doing the same for the clips on the left side.

If anyone knows how to safely and successfully remove the plastic hinge cover from the ASUS Q501la, it would be much appreciated!

Asus Q501LA: How to remove the LCD display connctor cable from MB

Hello, in the process of replacing the digital touch panel and screen, The video cable was pinched in the hinge and burned out. I have a replacement cable. In looking at the mother board connector, I can't tell if the connector slides into place or if you just lift up on it and snap it back down. any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Attached are a couple pics of the cable. 1 is the attached to the mother board and the other one is the underneath side of the new cable. Thanks

Asus Q501LA: Why isn't my battery charging?

I am having problem with my asus laptop.

The battery suddenly stopped charging. when i connect the charger the battery icon gives message

(0%,connected,charging) but the battery won't charge and the laptop shuts down when i remove the charger. My laptop is ASUS Q501LA and its 13 months old. Please suggest me how to troubleshoot this issue.

Asus Q501LA: Cant move icons. I have to check little box. Why

On my normal PC I can use my mouse to simply move my icons from one place to another. With this new laptop I move over the icon and it prompts me to check the little box. I try moving it with left mouse....then right mouse. What am I doing wrong

Asus Q501LA: Touchpad won't click in corners

This may not be that important, but I'm freaking out right now. Basically, my comforter got stuck underneath my touchpad and I thought it was fine but now my touchpad won't click or work in the corners. It's really important that I fix this before tomorrow or else my dad will find out, and that won't be good. Thank you!
