Asus Laptop FX505D: How to Update Wi-Fi drivers

Hi. So my Wi-Fi icon would occasionally disappear. Then the internet itself would start to disappear, and restarting the laptop would help at first. Now that doesn't help either, but the wired internet still works. I found out on this forum that I need to update my Wi-Fi drivers. I tried. Automatic/self-update didn't help. Please help me update manually. Repair is expensive for me.....

Asus Laptop FX505D: The Screws in the labtop have fallen out

The screws in the bottom part of the laptops have fallen out. What do I do about this? I'm fairly sure that I should just take it too a local electronic fixing store. But I am unsure how much that would cost. Also I went to home advisor and it said that the job would cost about 300 dollar's and that seemed unreasonable, how much would this really cost?

Asus Laptop FX505D: No power coming on with power button

Hello,

This Asus FX505DD-DR5N6 ******is barely used. I plugged it in and it seemed to turn on right away, but then I shut it down and I couldn’t get it back on.

I unscrewed the back and unplugged the battery and CMOS battery and pushed the power button for 20 seconds to drain all residual power. Upon plugging it in (before screwing everything back in) I tested it by plugging it into the wall. It came on like a beauty.

I screw everything back in, then try to power on again, and NOTHING. Again I unplug the battery, and upon plugging the battery back in, it comes on automatically. So, it seems to me there’s something preventing the power button from turning on the laptop. BUT, and here’s where I’m super confused… the power button DOES turn the laptop OFF. So, it couldn’t be the power button, right? What’s going on… has anyone had this happen before.

It seems ridiculous to change the power button if it can be used to power off the laptop.

Additional Note: The light on the power button does not turn on unless I unplug the battery and plug it back in. When I do this, the laptop powers on automatically and the light on the power button is on.

Thanks for your assistance.

Asus Laptop FX505D: Screen flickering, half blacking out

I am trying to fix an issue with an ASUS FX505D gaming laptop. It is running Windows 11. So far, we have opened it up and dusted, updated drivers, rolled back drivers, installed drivers through Adrenalin, disconnected and reconnected the display cable, and rebooted countless times. One thing that helped was setting the GameVisual preset to Racing through Armoury Crate, though there was intense flickering and a transparent afterimage on the bottom half of the screen. In some cases, a completely white window would improve the picture. In most cases, the issue appeared slightly better at a refresh rate of 48hz as opposed to 120hz. Currently, the bottom half of the screen is black, with an approx. 1-inch bar of the same line of repeating pixels between it and the functioning top half of the screen. Is this an issue with a connector, a driver, or the screen itself?

Asus Laptop FX505D: Laptop dies every time keyboard is touched
