Asus Laptop FX505D: The Screws in the labtop have fallen out

The screws in the bottom part of the laptops have fallen out. What do I do about this? I'm fairly sure that I should just take it too a local electronic fixing store. But I am unsure how much that would cost. Also I went to home advisor and it said that the job would cost about 300 dollar's and that seemed unreasonable, how much would this really cost?

ROG Strix G16 (G614J): How do I apply thermal paste on the CPU and GPU of an ASUS ROG Strix G

I have an ASUS ROG Strix G16 (G614J) gaming laptop. I want to replace the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU, but I am not sure about the correct procedure.

Does this model use standard thermal paste, liquid metal, or a phase-change thermal pad from the factory?

What type of thermal compound should I use for the CPU and GPU?

Do I need to replace the thermal pads on the VRAM and VRMs?

Are there any special precautions when removing the heatsink and applying new thermal paste?

Can someone provide a step-by-step guide or photos for the ROG Strix G16 (G614J)?

I would appreciate any advice before opening the laptop.

Important:
Many ASUS ROG Strix G16 models come with Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on the CPU from the factory. Replacing it with ordinary thermal paste can increase temperatures. Before repasting, confirm your exact model and year (2023, 2024, etc.).

Asus TUF Gaming Laptop A15 FA506NCR: ASUS TUF A15 FA506NFR CPU fan shows 0 RPM, makes noise at startup, no

I have an ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA506NFR purchased in December 2024.

Recently, the left side of the laptop started making a repeating sound at startup ("MMMM... silent... MMMM... silent..."). The sound begins immediately after pressing the power button, before Windows fully loads.

Armoury Crate reports:

CPU fan: 0 RPM (sometimes 100 RPM)

GPU fan: 3500–3900 RPM

CPU temperature: usually 60–70°C at light usage, but it previously reached 91°C while CPU usage was only around 3–11%.

I do not feel any airflow coming from the left-side vent. The GPU fan appears to be working normally.

An unusual detail is that a few days ago, lightly tapping the laptop would sometimes make the noise stop temporarily, but the issue would return when the laptop was moved.

There does not appear to be significant dust buildup.

Does this sound like a failed CPU fan, a fan bearing issue, a fan connector problem, or a sensor/software issue? What troubleshooting steps should I try before opening the laptop or requesting warranty service?

ASUS X553MA Laptop: ASUS X553MA - No power and no lights after hard reset and battery disconnect

I have an ASUS X553M laptop that will not power on and shows no indicator lights (power or charging) when plugged in.

I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:

- Verified the AC adapter and wall outlet are working.

- Opened the laptop and performed a hard reset by disconnecting the internal battery and holding the power button for 60 seconds.

- Attempted to power on the device with only the AC adapter connected (battery removed), but still no lights or fan activity.

- Inspected and re-seated the keyboard/power button ribbon cable to the motherboard.

- Checked the DC power jack, which appears to be physically intact.

Since there are no signs of life even with the battery bypassed, I suspect a motherboard-level power delivery issue. Are there specific MOSFETs, fuses, or capacitors on this board known to fail that I should check with a multimeter?

ASUS ROG Strix G15 G513: ASUS ROG Strix G513QC internal screen extremely dim, image visible wit

Hi, I have an ASUS ROG Strix G513QC from 2021 running Windows 11 Pro. The laptop powers on and works normally on an external HDMI monitor, but the built-in laptop screen is extremely dim.

If I shine a phone flashlight at the laptop screen, I can faintly see the Windows login/profile screen. The ASUS boot logo is also extremely dim before Windows loads, so I don’t think this is a Windows brightness or driver issue.

Before the screen became permanently dim, it used to flicker when I moved the lid/screen angle. Now moving the lid does not change anything; it stays extremely dim.

Things I already tried:

Changing brightness in Windows

External HDMI monitor, which works normally

EC reset / 40-second power button reset

Reseating the RAM

Reseating the motherboard-side eDP/display cable connector

Lid angle test

The original display cable label says:
6017B1547401
G513QM EDP CABLE
165Hz & 144Hz
HIGH-TEK

My question:
Based on these symptoms, is this most likely a damaged eDP/display cable, failed LCD backlight/panel, or motherboard backlight fuse/circuit? Is there any safe way to confirm before buying parts?

I can attach photos of the screen with flashlight, the motherboard, and the eDP cable label.
