Asus K53SV: Black screen, led on, auto turn on when plugged in

Hi, I have a problem with my Asus K53SV laptop. It's been broken for two years and today it's time to fix it. The laptop turns on however the screen remains black does not turn on. The LEDs light up but do not respond to commands such as activating or deactivating the capslock or number lock. The laptop starts as soon as I connect it to the power supply. In the past I had a problem with charging and I sent it to repair but after two days it broke again. I replaced myself and now it works. I tried in various ways to repair the laptop. I tried to hold down 30 seconds and then turn it on again. I tried removing and putting back the ram. I also tried to connect it to another screen but it does not work. I really need help. If I can not fix it I'd at least know if the screen works to make an external screen. Thanks for the patience

I did this, probably the motherboard is dead Thank you for the help

Asus K53SV: power button working with a condition

Hello, I opened the laptop to replace a faulty fan and when I put it back together the power button didn’t work.

So I replaced power button module cable and still the same.

However, whenever I remove the top cover (the one under the keyboard) it seems to work fine !

I’m puzzled.

Asus K53SV: Can I replace my existing K53SV motherboard with K53SM motherboard?

Hello,

I bought Asus X53SC-SX224D model on 2011 which has following specs:

- Motherboard: X53SC - K53SV REV 3.0 (PCB MADE IN CHINA)

- RAM: 2x2GB DDR3 1333

- Graphics: GT520M 1GB VRAM

- Battery: 4400mAh 4-Cell

- Processor: 2.3GHz i5 2nd Gen Processor

- DVD Writer

Now, this motherboard was damaged and I'm planning to fix it or replace it.

Can I get a new K53SM motherboard instead of K53SV? Will K53SM motherboard supports all my existing external hardware components?

Are the motherboards part number specific?

Can we use 1600mHz DDR3 RAM?

Existing K53SV: https://www.empowerlaptop.com/p/asus-x53...

New K53SM: https://www.empowerlaptop.com/p/asus-k53...

Thank you
