Asus G74SX-BBK7: Why is my laptop so hot?

I've noticed that the bottom of my laptop gets extremely hot, nearly burning to the touch. I have a fan in the laptop and can hear it operating when I turn on the laptop but it continues to get really hot. Can a fan's function deteriorate or is there possibly something blocking the fan from working at its full potential? Or is there something else causing the laptop to heat up?

Asus G74SX-BBK7: usb 3.0 not talking with devices connected to it

the usb 3.0 port still has power but any device connected to it

will not talk with the computer

my screen has a vertical white line its gets bigger and smaller and some time its turns red or blue or both even clear in the middle i know its the lcd or video cable i tried to reconnet it from the lcd but it didn't work i need to know if i need to buy the lcd or video cable and opening and closing doesn't work
