Hi!

My Chromebook at first was rebooting itself. It would restart itself while I was doing my work for college. It started doing it once everyday but then it got worse. I was at school one day and it was charging and it completely shut off causing me not being able to hand in some work. I really need to get it fixed but no idea whats wrong with it. I could only keep one tab open or it would reset

Asus Chromebook C300M: chromeos is damaged or missing

I have an Asus C300M Chromebook. Every time I try to power it on it says "ChromeOS is damaged or missing". I have attempted creating a ChromeOS recovery USB on a Windows 10 computer, even recreated the recovery usb while on Safemode with Networking (I saw someone recommended trying that on another form), but nothing works. It will verify the USB and then appear to start but it never recovers. Does anybody have any ideas? I'm really not sure what to do next.

My Chromiebook has developed horizontal static and now depending whether or not I have opened the laptop screen is to how likely I am to be able to view anything. I think it is the video card going bad, but I do not know.

I know the area where it should be attached but have no idea where exactly it reattaches to or how. I followed Jake Van Loon's instructions for the replacement of the battery and notice in one of the pictures the white strip is unattaced and in the following picture it's been reattached. Hello,

A friend recently damaged the screen of their chromebook. At first, the screen was mostly white with some colored lines running along the screen. The back light seemed to be partially damaged because some places were dimmer than others. I ordered a replacement screen and installed it according to a guide. The screen worked fine and the image was back to normal.

Sadly, that only lasted for about 30 seconds. I smelled smoke so I powered off the chromebook. I opened it back up and checked all of the connections to make sure they were connected correctly. They appeared to be, so I tried booting it back on a few hours later. The screen this time was completely black. I reinstalled the old screen and it had the same issue, the screen was black.

I figured the data cable connecting the motherboard and the screen may have been damaged, so I replaced it. That did not work either. I plugged in a HDMI cable and used it to connect to my TV. When connected to the TV everything works fine, but it does not recognize that the built in screen is connected at all. Any ideas as to what could be the issue? Thanks.

I am trying to boot a custom image from usb. I have run enable_dev_usb_boot as root, but upon pressing ctrl+U (or ctrl+L) in the developer screen (with the flash drive inserted), it beeps and doesn't boot.

For ctrl+U, it's a low, ~0.3s beep

For ctrl+L, two high ~0.1s beeps with a ~0.1s interval.

What do they mean?
