Art: What if I throw fruit at a painting?

Okay. so I just bought a ten thousand dollar painting. Should I throw fruit at it? I don't know if this could potentially damage the art, or worse, the fruit. Please answer ASAP!

I have no clue what you are saying when you say “cardstock” card? Cardboard? Some example of what card is the correct weight and thickness would be extremely helpful… or better still a link to an ideal piece of card that I can acquire in the UK please

We have a framed painting with a cloth matt that appears to have water stains. Are they cleanable or is it best to paint over the matt giving it a clean new look?
