Apple iPod Hi-Fi: Why doesn't the clicking noise stop?

I have a Hi-Fi that has worked flawlessly over the years. Last night as I was listening to music through the aux cord, the sound suddenly went out. As I pressed the volume buttons to see if something had turned down the volume I noticed that the touch buttons weren’t working correctly. Then, this weird clicking noise gradually started coming out the speakers and it wouldn’t stop (even after I had unplugged the aux cord from the unit). I have to unplug the power cord from the speaker in order for the sound to stop. Any time I plug the power cord back on the clicking noise begins as soon as the aux cord comes into contact with anything and I have to unplug the power again. Is there a way to fix this? :(

Apple iPod Hi-Fi: How do I repair the crossover?

Hi,

I really hope that you can help me. I have one of these for a long time now and the subwoofer stopped working. So I decided to pull the whole thing apart and discovered that something on the crossover board burned. It looks like the correct part (resistor, capacitor, ?) could do the trick. Any suggestions what it would be? Or does anyone know the data of the chassis? Then I'd consider just building a center speaker out of them.

Apple iPod Hi-Fi: iPods doesn't charge nor play music via the dock of my iPod HiFi...

I finally purchased on the bay an epic 2006 iPod Hi-Fi in excellent cosmetic and (I hoped) functional conditions. It looks gorgeous and it sounds amazingly (via 3.5mm jack connector...), despite to external compact dimensions.

But there is a trouble: inserting into the Hi-Fi dock my iPod 4g 20GB (A1099) or my 5.5G 30GB (A1136), both do not charge nor transmit the sound data to the speaker.

Using the iPod direct controls on the clickwheel does not lead to any result.

Making several attempts with the Apple remote (i.e. with "menu" or "play/pause" buttons) gives no result too, although the Hi Fi lights come on regularly as the only feedback. Anyway, the Apple Remote works perfectly for raising and lowering the volume, but for audio listening I'm forced to use a humble jack connector...

Since the iPod Hi-Fi's specifications clearly state the compatibility with both iPod models, what could be the reason for the failed connection between the two devices via the dock? Do they need a specific firmware to be used with the Hi-Fi, or what? (the 4G has the version iPod_11.1.2.1 installed, the 5.5G the V1.3: when connected to iTunes both appear updated with the last software version).

I have a feeling that the problem is the dock connector: how can I fix the issue?

Apple iPod Hi-Fi: Apple HiFi audio input jack almost non-functional - how to replace?

My speaker is still producing high quality sound - when the audio input jack works. I’ve used replacement cords of every variety and quality level with no difference, so I’ve determined it is the jack itself. I have to twist the input and say a prayer and cross my heart and (you get the idea) most of the time eventually have success in making a connection. Can I replace the jack? I haven’t been able to find a replacement part yet, nor any guides on how to do the fix. Thank you!

Apple iPod Hi-Fi: A "bang" and than nothing happened

Hello guys , first of all I apologize for my English but I'm Italian so I'll definitely miswrite lot of words. I'm also a girl with absolutely no skills in electronics components (treat me with white gloves :)). My apple ipod hi fi stopped working while I was listening to music; suddenly I heard a bang and then the device stopped working forever. Now I've opened it but I just don't know what to do with what I see. First of all, is it normal that all the cables

have black sticky stuff around them? Is there something I can safely do to clean the cables? Than, do you have suggestion about what should have happened (the bang and the death of the device) so that I can focus on one piece and maybe substitute it? Do you think I can do it alone? I'm already very proud that I successed in open it. Guys please help me cause I just love the way this device plays music (more than some Bose amplifier I've tried) and also is a matter of sentimental stuff. Thank you in advance for every suggestion you should give to me. Have a good week end.
