Apple Watch Series 1: Apple Watch S1, Still have a boot loop after battery replacement

My S1 stopped working and would only show the apple logo boot loop when on the charger. No signs of life off the charger and no luck with a hard reset. From my research it seemed like a dead battery was the culprit, so I ordered an iFixit kit and did the battery replacement (and force touch sensor replacement since it came in the kit).

Before sticking the screen back on I tried to boot it up. Unfortunately I had the same behavior as before with the boot loop. However, through whatever button pushing and taking it on and off the charger I was able to get the green charging snake to show up...I didn't see that before but I may not have played with it enough to show up.

Anyway, does anyone have advice before I give up on it? Maybe it's just dead. I suppose I could have got a defective battery but that seems unlikely.

Thanks!

Apple Watch Series 1: Apple Watch Series 1 stuck on Apple Logo after Screen Replacement?

I did a screen replacement in the AW Series 1 and it got stuck on the Apple Logo. It will stay on the Apple Logo for about 30 seconds - 1 minute. In between that time I can feel the watchs Haptic Engine go one time then the Apple Logo goes away.

One click of the power button the Apple Logo returns (dont need to hold the power button just one click literally) and it repeats.

Apple Watch Series 1: Purchase Apple Watch (42 mm) LCD Screen and Digitizer?

So i have a series 1, 42mm white apple watch. I bought it with a cracked screen. Now i'm looking to get the screen replaced and i have much practice replacing and fixing iDevices, so i'm comfortable doing this my self. But i cannot find a place to buy the 42mm LCD+Digitizer combo. I looked here on iFixit (my favorite go to website when needing help) but it says "Not for sale". Whats up with this? Does no one make replacements for the 42mm version? its there a legit way i can get a OEM replacement? Or a very good knock off?

Apple Watch Series 1: Apple Watch Series 1 unresponsive with new replacement screen

Hello everyone.

I have recently bought a replacement LCD for my broken Apple Watch Series 1.

The package arrived today, and after installing the new LCD, I noticed, that the Apple Logo appeared when starting up the device. After it has finished booting, it went to the watchface, but after that I wasn't able to interact with the watch anymore. The touch doesnt work, and any buttons dont seem to do anything as well. Only charging it, or force restarting it would make the screen show something again. The touch function does work on the old, broken LCD.

I am now wondering whether Apple has any kind of detection against fake LCD's or not, as this LCD came from China. I am not able to find any original LCDs anywhere, therefore I was forced to buy one from there.

I have been waiting several months for it to arrive, only to find out it does not work in the end.

Is there any way to fix this, or will I have to pay double the price over at the apple store (if they are even willing to repair it)?

I am honestly out of ideas, and I just want to get my watch back in working order.

Does anyone have an Idea on what to do?

Apple Watch Series 1: Power cycling before and after battery replacement

In my repair shop I don’t work on Apple Watches but I did replace the battery on a Series 1 for a friend who had purchased a replacement battery on his own from iFixit. The watch after having set unused for several months would power to the Apple logo then shut off. I told him I thought there might be more to it than needing a new battery, but since he had purchased one I would install it for him.

The physical replacement went well and I got the watch back together fine (actually easier than I anticipated getting into the watch). When I first put it on the charger (OEM charger and cord by the way) I got what people have termed the “Green Snake of Death”. My amp meter after some initial swings seemed to settle in at around 0.32amps with occasional moments of zeroing out. Even when leaving it on the charger for an extended time I never noticed the watch getting excessively warm. Overall, I assume the battery was charging. After multiple attempts I have not seen the “green snake” anymore and now the battery will at times power to the Apple logo and turn off (never actually power cycling though on it’s own). So basically it appears to be at the same status as before the replacement.

Has anyone been successful getting beyond a similar situation on a consistent basis? I assume that as with the iPhone there is logic involved in the whole charging system and that somewhere an IC on the motherboard, the battery and the charger are not communicating with each other correctly. Any ideas? Thanks.

Apple Watch Series 1: 2018 7000 series Apple Watch new battery not charging

Hello,

I have a 7000 series 42mm apple watch and the battery recently pillowed-up, so I went and purchased a replacement battery from iFixit (Item code: IF308-000-1). I swapped out the battery, but I'm having troubles with charging.

Initially the battery after install was at 27%, so per the instructions I let it drain to 10% and then put it on the charger. It charged up to 100% full overnight and all seemed Ok. I wore the watch the next day and all operations seemed normal, but by the end of the day the battery was down to 27% (normally I would get two days on one charge). I placed it on the charger and this morning it is at 17% and will no longer charge up.

I have tried this battery swap twice - this is my second attempt... both had the same issue and I can't figure out what the heck is wrong.

Many thanks!

I am replacing the Touch Force Sensor on my Apple Watch Series 1. The replacement kit included 2 Adhesive Strips in addition to the Sensor.
Apple Watch Series 1: boot loop apple watch series 0 sport. on both charger & off

I have a issue on a series 0 sport which is basically a series 1. I did a battery replacement from a totally dead battery. The new one gets past the snake charge screen so the battery got initialized but now it boot loops. logo 3 seconds power off. repeat every 5 min or so. force reset doesn't fix it. do you think battery isn't good? not enough voltage? no damage to the gasket touch sensor that I can see. left it on charger for 3 days so far to no help. I unplugged the battery for a day to ensure it had no power and it didn’t help. I get the boot loop on and off the charger so the battery has some power at least. It never charged more than 2.2w according to my kill a watt meter and it did this in a weird way. 7 seconds charge 5 seconds no charge. it now shows 1.3w now with same same cycling. could this new battery be bad? never seen this before.

Apple Watch Series 1: Knocked watch screen loose

Hi,

I bumped my Apple Watch Series 1 and knocked the screen loose. The screen is still connected to the watch (by a ribbon cable) and the watch still works (at least as far as I can determine). I have tried very gently pressing the screen back into place but it won’t stay. I checked with a local repair shop that I’ve dealt with before; they are honest and knowledgeable. They don’t do or recommend 3rd party repairs on Apple Watches because Apple Watches are intended to have a certain amount of water resistance, once that is broken, it's recommended that the whole device is replaced. They are not trying to sell me a Watch, but they are suggesting I purchase a new or refurbished one. (BTW, the watch is out of warranty)

So, after having searched your site, I’m guessing there’s no way to replace the adhesive that secures the screen without disassembling the watch first? The disassembly process looks complex and delicate (which isn’t surprising, of course).

Thanks in advance for any input/suggestions/advice.
