How can I connect Apple TV first generation with my mac book Pro?

I want to transfer movie fies from my Macbook to the hard drive of the Apple TV and store it permanently.

How can I do that?

Is there a way to physically connect the devices with a cable?

Is there a way to sync the new Macbook with the old Apple TV (remark: when I open the Apple TV via Itunes on my Macbook it only shows 'settings' and 'photos' but does not recognize any movies or gives me the chance to transfer movies.

Can anyone help with this problem

I want to update my Apple TV 1 with a SSD drive so I can install the unit in my garage. The unit has a 460 hd in it now, and it is starting to fail (sometimes) on start-up. What PATA is recommended for this change over?

Hi I've tried everything as far as trouble shooting on my ATV. I am at the point of replacing my hard drive. If I replace my hard drive do I need to find any software to boot from or will it boot on its own?

Hello,
So I jailbroke My Apple TV With OSMC (Just like this, Except it was on the HDD.)

But I Has Not been working very well... (Not downloading any apps, Being slow, etc)
And I think Apple TV OS would work better than OSMC.

Any Ideas?

I have checked the connections on the computer, apple tv and television set. The tv screen just shows a flashing question mark over an image of the apple tv. What does that mean?

I have 3 Apple TV 1st generations and they have all developed exactly the same fault at the same time. Coincidence? They no longer play saved content (films) without constant pausing and. Jumping. Has anyone else experienced this issue and - if so - what's the fix? I have tried a factory restore on one, but no ch age.

ok so I pointed at it with the red arrow on one of the pics. I'm just wondering what that is. Is this a usb port? or a power slot? I cant seem to find ANYTHING on this thing. I found an internal bluetooth mod that went into the same slot but i'm afraid to try it. I also looked at schematics for this apple tv and nothing. Anyone have any good guesses?

maybe I can use it for a sata drive?

Hey, I have a problem with my Apple TV. When I plug in my USB Drive to install OSMC it doesn’t start off of that it starts from the hard drive and boots into Apple TV OS v3. Is there any ideas how to fix this?

I bought the device in the USA and have used it in Sweden using a USA bank account. Something has changed and I apparently can no longer use the device from Sweden. So, can I reconfigure it for another use, such as an external hard drive via the USB port?

I have 2 Apple TV 1, one works and the other does not . I exchanged the hard drive, battery , power supply , and one only have amber light. no picture, no sound. The second Is Perfect. What do you recommend to me ?
