Apple TV 4th Generation: My Apple TV wont connect to wifi or ethernet

Im trying to figure out a situation with a used Apple TV 4th gen. When I received it, it would not connect to the internet through wifi. I connected it to ethernet and still nothing. I did a reset of the device through iTunes and still nothing. If I leave it connected, though, it will connect to internet just for a few seconds. I have gotten far enough to where I connected it to my account but thats it. I have tried Airplaying stuff to it to no avail. Any ideas?

Apple TV 4th Generation: Lose Video and Audio intermittently when Streaming on Apple TV

I keep losing Audio & Video for a second or two when streaming either directly from Apple TV or when playing from a MacBook through AirPlay on my 4th Gen. Apple TV. I have changed the HDMI Cables, powered off everything and back on, called a Comcast Technician to check on Internet download speeds - in short I have exhausted everything that I knew from a Technical troubleshooting standpoint but the problem persists. At times I lose both Video and Audio and even pressing any button on the Remote does not help either. After a few minutes I might get back the video where it might have paused and if I continue playback, I will again see the blanking of Audio/Video and again the total blank though pressing any button on the Remote will show me the light flickering on the Apple TV but as such nothing happens.

I just took the device to Apple Store and they instead asked me to buy a New Apple TV.

What could be wrong? Is someone facing a similar problem?

Apple TV 4th Generation: Device not turning on, internal power supply works but PMU IC gets hot

Hello everyone,

a few days ago an Apple TV 4th gen came in and I've been attempting at perhaps fixing it up. Of course, it does not power on, and connecting it to a PC or Mac by USB-C did not show any signs of life either. The background of the device is unclear, so I cannot state whether it was dropped or how exactly it stopped working. Opening it up and probing around made me come to some conclusions:

- The internal power supply still works and is delivering its supposed 12 Volts

- The main pcb shows no signs of water damage or any other type of damaged/discolored components

- Hooking the main pcb up to 12 Volts on a power supply shows that it draws about 130-170mA

- One specific IC, the 338S00057, which barely has any information on the internet about it, is getting rather warm/hot when hooking the pcb up, since this IC is probably responsible for sustaining several power rails, I was thinking perhaps a certain rail is shorted to ground, however a short would result in a much greater current draw, so I am not sure

- The IC might also be a memory controller, as its part name is similar to the 2015 Retina Macbooks Memory controller 338S00055

The IC marked in green is the one getting hot.

As there are no schematics for Apple TVs and these issues rarely occur, I am not expecting this to be fixable. Someone suggested to check the CPU clock crystals, but I can neither buy replacements of them or read them out because I dont have an oscilloscope.

Suggestions would be great, thanks in advance!

Apple TV 4th Generation: Couldn't turn it on

My Apple TV 4th Gen on TV OS 9.2.2 ... It was flawlessly working before and without a clear reason it just stopped working...

It was bought on 5th April 2016 and now on September it can't be turned on properly... I already tried to google it up and it says to connect the Apple TV via USB C cable only ( without the power adaptor plug ) to the PC / Mac and try to restore it firmware through iTunes... Unfortunately the Apple TV not recognized or detected using both Windows and Mac with the latest version of iTunes...

If someone experienced the same way and has already found the solution. please kindly share it with me... *I bought it on abroad Apple Store meanwhile on vacation so claiming the Warranty not really on my first option
