I’ve already been able to open it up, cleaned with alcohol, but that doesn’t seem to do anything.

Does anyone have tips for other things I could try to get these buttons to work again?

My Apple TV4 is completely dead. No light when the power cord is plugged in or anything. I dismantled the thing so warranty is also gone, but what I saw when I checked the power supply is that it is working perfectly (outputting 12V). However, when the logic board is connected, the power supply goes down to 0V. After measuring the motherboard, I saw that there is a short between the positive and negative terminal of the motherboard.

Does anybody have any idea if this is a common fault, if or how to fix it, and were a spare logic board can perhaps be found?

It displays the Apple logo that you'd normally see during the boot process. After the light on the front of the device blinks 9 times, it seems to immediately reboot itself.

On just one occasion since this began, iTunes was able to see the Apple TV temporarily when I had connected it with a USB-C cable (with the intent to be to do a software restore on it, if possible).

I have tried two power cables (borrowed from another working Apple TV), two HDMI cables (not perceived to be an issue since we can see the boot logo on screen), different power outlets, and even different televisions.

There are articles on holding the TV and Menu buttons on the remote for 10 seconds to force it to restart. The Apple TV does seem to react to the remove (the light on the front will flash in response to it), but this did not permit a full boot.

Thoughts on what hardware components inside of this would be worth swapping out to get this working again?

-Disconnect device from power for a while and reconnect

-Change power cable

-Change power outlet

ok so I pointed at it with the red arrow on one of the pics. I'm just wondering what that is. Is this a usb port? or a power slot? I cant seem to find ANYTHING on this thing. I found an internal bluetooth mod that went into the same slot but i'm afraid to try it. I also looked at schematics for this apple tv and nothing. Anyone have any good guesses?

maybe I can use it for a sata drive?

Usb-C port is not available on AppleTV 4k Edition.

How is it possible to connect Appletv 4k to ituens ?

I heared ,something about recovery/DFU mode over a WiFi connection

My Apple TV 4 has a defective bluetooth/wifi chip. So I found one on eBay, a 339S00045 chip, which seems to be the same as in the ipad mini and pro. I took my apple tv apart, but the chip doesn’t seem to be that easy to replace. Is that something that is even possible at this point?

Just a question, have apple fully taken down the Apple TV 3 (I have A1469) activation servers down? I have reset my ATV many times and it always says activation failed in Settings-General-About. This also removes AirPlay which is the only reason I need the Apple TV. I’ve seen many other people with this issue but I still don’t know if it is a one time problem that is hard to fix and they are repairing it or if they are fully down forever.

So, could anyone tell me if it is a bug (and how to fix it) or if it is fully down.

My Apple TV 3rd gen had started displaying message:

'warning' 'apple tv is overheating and will shut down , this message will disappear when apple tv is ready' or something very similar. The unit is in a well ventilated area and has never been abused, and is less then 3 years old. Ive updated the software( it barely let me do that before failing) and ive tried resets etc. but it isn't possible to even turn the unit off now , only by unplugging the power lead.

Any help tips or advice would be most appreciated
