Apple Pencil (2nd Generation): Apple pencil 2 not connecting

My apple pencil (2nd generation) suddenly stopped working. I used it the day before and then when I woke it just wouldn’t connect. Tried connecting it to another iPad, it didn't connect either and tried connecting another apple pencil to my iPad and it worked. The only thing it shows me on the top is a flashing sign with “apple pencil” on it (no battery %).

Contacted Apple but they were no help. Tried to restart my iPad and leave the Apple pencil connected for around 45min straight, still didn’t work. Apple customer service people told me to go to Best Buy where I was told that they basically don’t work with Apple accessories i.e. the pencil.

Any advice?

Apple Pencil (2nd Generation): Apple Pencil only works when tip is wrapped in tin foil

My Apple Pencil connects to my iPad via Bluetooth and the double-tap feature to switch tools works perfectly. However, it will not draw or register any touch on the screen unless I wrap the tip in tin foil. I have already replaced the tip 6 times with official Apple tips and verified the gold transducer pin is straight and clean. I've tried forgetting the device, restarting the iPad, and checking accessibility settings. Has anyone found a way to fix this without replacing the whole Pencil? Is there a known internal grounding issue that causes this?

Apple Pencil (2nd Generation): The Apple Pencil can be fixed!

Hi, everyone,

did you guys know the Apple Pencil battery CAN be replaced? It's just difficult, but it can. There are some people employing the following approach: destroying the non-removable enclosure, then removing the battery, soldering a new one, and using a custom, 3d-printed enclosure. Please check:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRzz1Klq...

What do you guys think? Is there any chance to release a kit to make this process any easier? I'm asking because I think Apple will eventually make newer Apple Pencils incompatible with their older devices, and if they're not repaired, you'll have to upgrade if you want to use pressure sensitivity.

Apple Pencil (2nd Generation): How can I repair or replace the tip of my Apple Pencil?

I have an Apple Pencil 2nd Gen that has not been in use for months now. Shortly after I had bought it, my puppy decided to chew on the tip. The pencil still connects and charges, however, there is no response through the tip. It will not select, write, draw, etc. I do not want to purchase a brand new one and I was hoping there was a more budget friendly way to approach this. I would like to open up the casing to check the extent of the damage, seeing how it’s not covered under warranty, but I’m not sure the best way to approach this. Thank you

Apple Pencil (2nd Generation): The body of my Apple Pencil 2 has warped over time.

The body of my Apple Pencil 2 has warped over time. It is becoming concave on the flat side, making it not able to charge when attached to a case. It still charges when directly attached to the iPad. The concave curve is noticeable.

The pencil has not been dropped or bent or otherwise mistreated. I think the constant downward pressure from use has slowly warped the pencil over time, and I use it a lot.

If there is a tear down of the Apple Pencil 2, can anyone tell if there is a design defect that causes the pencil to warp favoring the flat side?

Because of the unique flat side orientation for the the tap feature, I hold the pencil always in the exact same orientation, as opposed to other writing utensils and the old Apple Pencil, where the orientation of the utensil did not matter and presumably, the pressure on the utensil is averaged out randomly, as opposed to being focused only on one orientation.

Apple Pencil (2nd Generation): What kind of battery does the 2nd gen Apple Pencil use?

I have two apple pencils, one that I use daily and one as a backup.
Apple Pencil (2nd Generation): Anyone know what chip/IC this is?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a replacement transducer (the inner gold nib) and successfully installed it, but unfortunately, my Apple Pencil still won’t write.

The pencil pairs and charges perfectly, and the double-tap feature works fine, the only issue is with the tip.

I couldn’t find anything obviously wrong, so I disassembled it a bit further and discovered that a specific chip/IC inside is physically damaged (not by me). It looks like it’s been broken for quite some time.

There are no markings on the chip, so I can’t identify or source a replacement. If anyone happens to know what this component is, I’d really appreciate your help.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, I know it’s a long shot, but I figured I’d give it a try.

This is the chip/ic that's damaged.

This is another angle to the chip/ic.
