Apple Mighty Mouse: Mighty Mouse doesn't scroll down

The mighty mouse I use has been in use on various computers for a few years now.

I was using it to browse the web when the scrollball stopped scrolling down. It can still go up, left and right but when I scroll down it goes down and spins but there isn't the usual clicking noise and it doesn't do anything on-screen.

Can I fix it at all?

Apple Mighty Mouse: How do I open up a Mighty Mouse?

How do I open up a Mighty Mouse? I got one that can only scroll in one direction.

Update

Thanks guys.

I've just took one apart.

It seems easier than the old Apple pro mouse.

Scrolling works perfectly after clearing out all the dirt around the rollers.

Didn't try the upside down cloth method, as I was looking for a excuse to see the guts of the mighty mouse.

Apple Mighty Mouse: Right click not working.

I can't get my wireless mighty mouse to sense my right clinking. It just left-clicks wherever i touch. I already opened it and tried to do some stuff (ehm...).

I think it might have to do with that extractable metal thin plate that sits under where the middle right finger rests (more or less).

Apple Mighty Mouse: How to repair the switch that detects mouse clicks on the shell?

I have a Mighty Mouse (corded, optical) that is not registering clicks correctly. The problem has gotten suddenly worse. It used to register a single click as a double click, now it seems to treat every attempt at clicking as a "half-click".

Apple Mighty Mouse: After cleaning the ball doesn't work anymore

I have cleaned my Mighty Mouse several times following your instructions manual, but the last time I did it, the ball doesn't function anymore. Any thing I did wrong? I have used this procedure several times, and I'm sure I reassembled it correctly. Maybe the cables or the cables connectors are with problem, is it possible?

What can I try to correct this problem?

Apple Mighty Mouse: Mouse doesn't turn on after a horrible battery leak.

I have a Mighty Mouse. It suffered from a battery leak when it was in the hands of somebody else. I took it and tried to connect it to my Mac, it kept disconnecting and showed the battery percentage of the mouse wrong. Recently I tried to connect it my iPad and it worked.. but I spoke too soon, and the mouse again stopped working after a week. I opened it and saw there was not much a battery acid damage out there. I tried cleaning the negative contact points but it didn't work. I would like my mouse to be working again.

I saw that one of the screws has been totally covered in acid.

Apple Mighty Mouse: Fixing a MAC USB mouse

Has anyone fixed such a device. I find the magic mouse doesn’t always work reliably. I have an old USB mouse which clearly has a cable problem. Is there a way to disassemble it and reconnect for full function?

Apple Mighty Mouse: Fixing the major keys?

Recenty I bought a Bluetooth MightyMouse from eBay - but, as it turned out, its functionality is only 50%.

What does not work:

the left (primary) key

the right (secondary) key

the middle key

What does work:

the mouse pointer resp. the laser electronics

the scrollball

the two keys on the side

Now it would be shame to throw the mouse away.

BTW: The innards of a BT Mighty Mouse are imho quite different from those of a USB cable Mighty Mouse.

Is there any way to fix it?

Thank you!
