Apple LED Cinema Display 27": Display flickers and won't turn on, but occasionally can stay on

When plugging the display into the computer, it usually flickers on the backlight then turns off quickly. Everything else works, the screen is showing picture and playing audio, just no backlight. But after unplugging and plugging a bunch of times, it will stay on and keep that way for weeks. It's only possible to get it to stay on if the USB is not plugged in.

I assume this is a power supply issue with how other things being plugged in affect it, and I already tried replacing the logic board which did not fix it. Is there any other ideas on this, where I could look to repair on this power supply board? Thank you in advance!

Apple LED Cinema Display 27": What is the proper order of diffuser panels?

I picked up an inoperable A1316 with what turned out to be a backlight issue. I was able to resolder the LED backlight connector onto the existing LED strip and reassemble the display. Everything seems to be working properly but unfortunately the picture seems a bit too white/washed out (hard to see in the attached pic). While doing the repairs the diffuser panels got separated and I had not previously noted the order they go in. I thought I had figured out how to reassemble them but now I’m thinking it’s possible that I put them back in out of order. It’s also very possible that the extra light is due to the fact that I have not replaced the aluminum tape yet, but I wanted to make sure everything was in order before taping it back up. So I was wondering if anybody could please let me know the correct order of the diffuser panels so I can have some peace of mind before taping everything back up?

Apple LED Cinema Display 27": Faint pixel thick vertical lines on Apple Cinema Display 27"

I bought old used a1316 Apple Cinema 27” Display to connect to my 15” MacBookPro (Early 2013) and just use both at home mostly for browsing and movies.

Today I noticed faint pixel thick lines about inch from each other all over the screen. Clearly visible on dark backgrounds when MacOS is in DarkMode, but almost impossible to see if screen is completely black or white.

Screen on macbook is fine. I played with different resolutions, reset PRAM, rebooted machine, tried different thunderbolt connectors…

So far, if I’m far enough from the screen it’s not bothering me much. But just wanted to know is this is something I need to worry about? Can the condition of the screen deteriorate?

I made a photo of the screen, not sure how visible issue will be:

Apple LED Cinema Display 27": Washed colors/light leaking in one corner

I bought old 27" Apple LED Cinema Display recently with well known problem of screen flickering on higher brightness + sometimes (not all the time!) washed colors/light leaking on right upper corner. I opened it and it was clear right away, that connection on left LED strip is very loose and broke completely when I touched it. I thought that backlight leaking on right side is connected with this.

I ordered spare pair of LED strips to LM270WQ1 (used ones only available), dismantled LCD panel, replaced both LED backlight strips successfully and mounted panel back.

To my surprise: when I finally connected it to computer, backlight is working without any issues on highest brightness setting but unfortunately the right upper corner has still washed colors/backlight leaking. In addition I can see some image persistence as well.

I used my desk mount a while with my Apple Led Cinema + Vesa mount.

Problem is that after putting the foot back on, I cannot get it to go back upright. There is some kind of latch preventing the stand from going upright and the little plastic card that came with the VESA kit does nothing to release this latch.

I have a MacBook Pro 13in (2012) connected to a 27in cinema screen which I have had for eight years. The screen went black today yet the MacBook still thought the screen was connected. My solution was to disconnect the power, coming from the cinema screen to the MacBook and use the original power supply for the MacBook. I think there's a PSU problem on the cinema screen and likely this is a temporary solution.

Apple LED Cinema Display 27": Display flickers briefly then goes black after connecting mini dp

The display was working one night just fine until we restarted the machine. When the machine booted up, the display remained black.

I tested it on a macbook that is working with another cinema display, but nothing happened.

Hello everyone. Long time lurker, first time question asker. This community has been great to me over the years. I mostly replace iPhone screens and other easily addressed issues on iPhone for family and close friends of family. So this community has been very helpful with some of those things.

I recently was given a 27in Cinema Display from a customer of mine (from my actual job). He was about to throw it out because "it's just a black screen". I told him I'd take it off his hands. I was originally thinking it was just the back light that may be broken. However, after getting it home it seems like a possibly power supply issue. When the monitor is plugged into a power outlet it won't even power up a Macbook through the Magsafe cable. This is my first Apple display and it doesn't have a power button so I assume it just powers on when plugged in or when a device is connected to it?

For those of you out there that have repaired these, is the power supply a likely culprit? I'm getting 120v on the cable so that doesn't seem like an issue. I've read in a few places those can go bad.

Also, Macbook does not recognize a display connected. Thus another piece of evidence leading me to think the dang thing isn't even powering on.

Apple LED Cinema Display 27": Display parts - shocked plug

Hello, I have the 27” Cinema Display and unfortunately a cup of water spilled on my desk and the water touched the power and signal whip. I can only guess that the power contacts shorted against the Thunderbolt plug. The display is dark and no longer responsive. I am looking to repair this display if possible. Does anyone have any advice or know where I can find reliable replacement parts?
