Apple IIe: Keyboard typing random letters/numbers and repeats?

I’m working on an vintage apple iie, and I’ve encountered 1 snag that I cannot figure out. The keyboard works, yet no matter what keys are pressed, it only ever types k,y,x,1,3,:,/, etc. What do I need to fix in order to get it typing properly again?

Apple IIe: Reset hard or soft?

If my Apple IIe resets the video garbage on the screen doesn’t this mean my computer program is working as it must be looking at the keyboard to know I’ve hit alt reset?

Logically if the computer wasn’t following its program it wouldn’t be able to know which keys I’ve hit?

Apple IIe: No video is displayed

When I power on my computer it makes the normal startup sound. If I press any letters and press enter it beeps again (syntax error) meaning it is working as intended. But the only thing wrong is that when it’s on the display shows no video. It’s sending out signals to the TV because when I turn the computer on the TV brightens. I wonder what should I do first.
