Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic: I'm losing sound in left ear piece

I got my ear buds over a year ago (Jan. 09) and just the other day, the sound in the left ear-piece would be full power, but then flutter and get quieter, then back to normal again. I don't know if it is a wire problem or the ear piece's speaker. I know it is not the audio jack.

Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic: How to fix frayed earphone wires?

The right side of my earphones stopped working. (This is the 2nd set with the same problem, probably through rough usage)

The problem is not in the ear bud but in the wires near the base. (When I bend or move the cord near the base the sound in both ears works)

I stripped back the plastic casing and the wires are frayed.

There are 5 wires made of very thin filaments and one solid white one

- White

- red

- green

- striped green + orange

- striped red + orange

- striped red + green

white seems to the the only wire unscathed. The rest are very frayed (showing white underneath the orange/red/green filaments)

Any tips for fixing them or is it hopeless in this kind of case and should I just buy a new set?

I do not know what the issue is, since it was fully functional one day and not the next day. Is there a way to fix the microphone and remote on the headphones or is there a way to use my computer's microphone instead of the one on my headphones?

Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic: Mic and Remote hardly working

Whenever I go outside, my earbuds crackle and pop in my ears and I never think much of it until today. I tried to use Siri and it showed that it couldn’t hear me talking at all, as in the mic was inactive. This is an issue as they are brand new headphones that I use often because my in-phone mic is not working as it should. I tried cleaning out the headphone jack, but nothing seems to be working. What can I do?

Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic: What can I do to fix quiet EarPods?

My Apple EarPods recently had the sound go quieter on them. The right side, main mesh part has the least amount of sound but the other places are loosing it too. I take good care of my EarPods, and the only thing that could have contributed to this problem was that they were dangling as I was walking but only for a few seconds. Instead of having my volume on my iPod touch and iPad around 2-3, I now have to have it at 5-6 to achieve the sound volume I need. I could be loosing hearing because I don't have very good ears, but I'm only 13.

Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic: Right ear side, line removal

Having one working/hearing ear, on the lovely Left-hand/ear side of my iPhone headphones, the opposite side of the remote (BOOOOOO), I would like to remove the right-hand/ear side, as aside from the remote that I continuously use, it only gets in the way. Can one side of the headphones be removed, or will doing that cancel the sound, and can the parts of the headphones that sit in the ears be swapped, one side with the other, which would enable me to use the remote if/when the opposite line is removed?

THANK YOU!!!
