Apple AirPort Extreme Model A1143: After upgrading to 7.4.2 Air Disc won't connect anymore.

Hey folks!

I recently updated my AEB to 7.4.2 and it turns out that my MacBook is not able to connect to the Harddrive connected to the AEB. When 7.4.1 was installed (and after downgrading Firmware to 7.4.1) it worked and I could even use it for Backups with TimeMachine.

It's a used AEB, bought on Amazon a year ago, or so. That's why I don't know when it was built etc. But the Model No. is A1143, if this helps.

Would be thankful for any advices.

Apple AirPort Extreme Model A1143: Can the Wi-Fi Card be replaced?

My Airport Extreme base station (A1143) stopped working after a move across country. It does not appear to be transmitting a wireless signal on any frequency. It is possible to log in using the Airport Utility only if the computer is plugged into the AEBS. Nothing about the setup suggests there are any problems, although there was some issue with saving / loading profiles. This suggests to me that the wireless card is not working.

Is it possible to replace the card without replacing the logic board? The iFixit teardown suggests not, but I'm hoping there is a solution.

Thanks in advance.

Apple AirPort Extreme Model A1143: Not connecting directly do router through wan port

I have an A1143 that I am trying to connect directly to my Netgear MR1100 AT&T FirstNet hotspot. I am using the ethernet port on the MR1100 and connecting to the WAN port on the A1143 with a 10ft Cat6 patch cable. The A1143 is not able to pull an IP address from the Netgear MR1100.

However if I connect the MR1100 to a unmanaged switch like an 8 port D-Link and then connect the D-Link to the A1143 on the wan port, the A1143 is then able to obtain an IP address.

Why is this. Our remote fire stations are changing out from the Cradle point ibr650-150m’s to the netgear MR1100 units because they provide more throughput speed.

We were able to connect the A1143 directly to the Cradle point with no issues.

Why is the indicator on the AirPort Extreme Base Station off?

Today, January 1, 2020 on the AirPort Extreme Base Station (model A1143), the indicator turned off and Wi-Fi does not work. At the same time, the inside of the router is audible, as if the clock hands are ticking. We were able to update the router. But at the same time, the indicator on the device did not light up. What to do next is unclear.

Apple AirPort Extreme Model A1143: green status light does not come on.

2 ½ years after the original question ...

The green status light on the front of my 2007 Airport Extreme (I'm not sure of the model; the date is from inside components - antenna?) does not come on. The AC adapter was plugged into a surge protector, but when our electricity came back on after a nearby storm knocked out electricity in the area, the Airport Extreme was not functioning.

I listened to the adapter while the green LEDs at the ethernet ports blinked. The adapter chirped every time the lights blinked.

In November, I bought a new Apple Airport Extreme Model A1521 because I was anticipating a new Mac Pro in the near future.

So a replacement AC adapter should solve the problem of this not coming on due to insufficient power?
