Apple AirPort Express Base Station: Can I use my Airport express to bridge WiFi?

I have a question today that seems simple, but I have yet to come across a good answer for it. I have a pc rack mount server that I wanted to put in another closet away from my xserves, but I do not have an ethernet connection in that closet, and the server does not have WiFi. I do have an AirPort express lying around and was wondering if I could somehow use that like a wireless adapter with it's ethernet connection. It is the original AirPort express, not the newest one. I am not in need of a super fast connection that ethernet would bring, but just need to get it wireless. I would buy an actual adapter, but I want to see if I can manage with what I have.

Thanks

Apple AirPort Express Base Station: Can I repair an Airport Express that died from overheating?

The smell started 2 weeks before it died but it worked fine until an hour before it died. Then the signal decreased to the point that the internet slowed to unusable, but my iPhone had a great signal right up to the demise. Is this repairable?

Apple AirPort Express Base Station: Is it possible to add battery and make wireless device for music use?

Is it possible to add battery here – to make wireless airport for music listening by Apple's Airplay (Wi-fi)?

Bluetooth is awful for music with no quality at all until we get someday 5.0

I noticed that Apple's airport express is getting hot during operation, maybe this problem can be managed with getting rid of converting power supply (battery direct needed voltage).

I have an airport Express a1264, it sometimes gives me a few seconds a green light, and then a orange one. I think then it's booting. But after 5 seconds it stops. When I try it again, then it isnt showing me any sign of life. Maybe it's the power supply. Please help me.

Apple AirPort Express Base Station: How to use Airport Express base station A1264 w ARRIS WiFi Cable Modem

Can i use an Airport Express base station A1264 on a new network w/o an Apple airport Extreme?

After a lighting strike that took out cable internet in our entire building, I replaced my old cable modem with ARRIS SBG10 Cable Modem with 5G Wifi options. Previously the older cable modem was configured in bridge mode w my Apple Airport Extreme A1354 to give us Wifi and allow us to use an Airport Express base station A1264 added to the network to use our USB laser printer.

Any suggestions Appreciated.. Thank you.

Apple AirPort Express Base Station: **How To Use AirPort Express as Bridge to Time Capsule**

I've recently moved into a new building that has wifi included for its tenants. I have no access to the modem, router, or any ethernet jacks. I have an AirPort Time Capsule 802.11ac that I would like to connect to this network. In my last building, I was able to connect my Time Capsule to the existing internet through an ethernet jack. In turn, I then created my own wireless network which I used to connect all of my devices - rather than connecting them directly to the building's internet. Since I don't have an ethernet jack in my new building, I can't set it up like this. It was recommended that I get an AirPort Express Base Station and set the Express up as a bridge and then run an ethernet cable between the Time Capsule and the Express. I purchased the Express and have been attempting to do this, but I keep having the following errors:

1) Express is setup with internet. I test this by turning off wifi and connecting my laptop to the Express directly with ethernet. Internet works fine. Unplug ethernet. Attempt to connect via wifi..."no internet connection"

2) Express and Time Capsule recognized by Airport Utility, but then no longer seen OR seen, but told there's an error.

3) Express has green light, but not seen by Airport Utility.

I'm decently literate with technology, but clearly seem to be missing something because nothing is working. I'm guessing that I may have missed a step in my original setup. I'm just absolutely confused at this point. At this point, I want to do factory resets of both the Express and the Time Capsule and start over. Would someone please, please provide me detailed step-by-step directions for how to set up the Express and Time Capsule at my new building using the existing wifi? Thank you so very much!

I have: AirPort Time Capsule 802.11ac (model A1470) AirPort Express Base Station 802.11n (model MC414LL/A) MacBook Pro w/ Yosemite iPhone 6 iPad Mini wifi network name wifi network pw ethernet cable

I do NOT have: access to the router access to the modem access to an ethernet jack

Apple AirPort Express Base Station: External Antenna Connections, Wiring?

Hi,

Can someone please identify the two like U-fl connectors and also how I can wire an external antenna to this unit, it's not the Device identified by the Article. It's actually an Apple Airport Express 2012, the one that looks like a 3rd gen Apple TV but white. None of these antenna cables that go to RF-SMA connectors.

For the life of me, I cannot find an article anywhere on how to do it, regardless of how large the internet is. Someone here must know.

Thanks,

<- Need to know what these connections are, they look like U.FL but no U.FL connectors will attach to them? I need a way of adding external antennas to this Airport Express 2012. Thanks.

Apple AirPort Express Base Station: Used repair kit, only getting 2.3 volts out of 3.3 wire!

Hey guys,

Used the kit and repair guide here: Apple AirPort Express Base Station Power Supply Kit

The 5V supply wire works fine, but the 3.3 volt wire only shows 2.3 volts tops.

Had to disconnect it from the card because when connected to the airport board I see one green flash and then nothing. Checked the voltage on the wires and saw the low voltage on the 3.3V wire. Tried following the paths back but the capacitors and resistors connections look ok.

Any ideas??

Thanks!!
