Anker Vertical Mouse (98ANWVM-BA): left button suddenly function as scroll button!

out of the blue, my Anker mouse left button can no longer do double click...
single click works but it closes my browser tabs...
turns out it has now decided to become the middle mouse button instead.

ie. the scroll wheel button (middle button) actually can do single click but not double click and it will close yr browser tabs when u click on them.

I have two of these….one in my home office and one at work. The dongles for each are plugged into a plugable docking station. My home office mouse works perfectly, but the mouse at my office isn’t tracking well. I’ve changed the batteries a few times. I have tried to use it with and without a mouse pad. Nothing seems to help. Is there anything else I can try? THANKS.
