I have several of these connected a three different models of Epson projectors in all the classrooms at the school I manage. One classroom is constantly reporting distorted video and audio for their device. I've swapped their Windows 10 Dell computer for a new model, as well as their projector for a different model. I tried two different adaptors, but the issue continues. I've updated all devices and tried from different positions in the room. I followed the troubleshooting guide on the Microsoft website and can't seem to find a working solution.
Matrox TripleHead2Go Display Adapter: Matrox PowerDesk control panel not loading completely

I'm trying to figure out why the Matrox PowerDesk control panel only half-loads.

Installed right, rebooted whenever I open the control panel (which is actually an application in the Applications folder) I get the icon in the Dock, the name of the App next to the Apple menu but nothing else.

Hitting any keys or quitting it with the keyboard only ends with system beeps, All I can do is quit it via the Dock.

On the App name itself, I can click it but nothing shows up.

Of course, nothing on Google or Matrox's website.

I really need a custom resolution for the TripleHead2Go (2560X720) on my MacBook Pro Penryn.

Running 10.5.8.

Adapter: How to use a Hard Drive Adapter

If I use a hard drive adapter as suggested, such as this one: "Newer Technology Universal Drive Adapter - connects ATA/IDE/SATA to USB2 - 2.5", 3.5", 5.25" Drives", do I still need an enclosure?

I need to retrieve data from a computer that won't boot up due to a bad board. Can I do this using only the adapter and connecting it directly to the computer leaving the hard drive in the computer, OR, do I need to remove the HD, put it in the enclosure and then connect the adapter to the enclosure?

In summary, my mission is to get the data off the Macbook HD of the computer that won't boot up and transfer it to a new Macbook.

Will this scenario allow me to accomplish this, or is there another way to best do it?

Thanks very much!!

Now that we're seeing more SSD flash cards in Apple laptops I am looking for a Universal SSD flash card adapter.

also the Envoy Pro for the MacBook Pro retina 2012: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MAU3E...

I use my Universal Drive Adaptor

Universal Drive Adapter

on almost a daily basis.

iFixit also sells the SATA adapter: [linked product missing or disabled: IF107-107]

Any ideas other than buying all the different enclosures? I don't need permanent enclosures, just some means of being able to read these drives outside of their perspective machines.

Adapter: Parallels Switch To Mac Edition Cable w/ Parallels Standard Edition?

I am not sure if this question is permitted as its more related to a hardware/software discussion and question for Intel Based Macs. So I will get on with it.

I have an Intel based Mac Mini and I am running Parallels Version 5 "Switch To Mac". Now the biggest point to understand here is that Parallels has 2 versions. They have the regular Parallels 5 and then there is what they call "Switch To Mac" version. The big difference in Switch to Mac is that it comes with a USB cable that is A type on both sides for transferring an actual image verbatim to a Mac instantly and then your basically done with the exception of minor tweaks and preference changes.

My questions is, does anyone know if and how you can possibly use the transfer cable on a non-Switch to Mac version of Parallels? I did notice that my version has extra software in it that allows you to perform different functions with the cable, but what I am not aware of is if the normal "Parallels 5" supports use of the cable. Without going into too much detail if it can use the Cable this is a major time saver vs. having to have a client (which we do at present) using the standard Parallels 5 that could benefit from a cable transfer vs. having to manually install Windows and all associated software. The cable in some way shape or form also can aid in bypassing possible issues you may otherwise run into if you have to install a virtual machine manually. Long story short its MUCH faster like the difference between night and day.

The question is can you use the USB transfer cable on a version of Parallels 5 that is standard and is NOT "Switch To Mac" Edition?
