I put my computer on to charge. The next time I started it up only get an icon with a battery and plug wrapped around it. It turns off then. Is the battery shot?

Acer Aspire One ZG5 tablet

want to restore Acer aspire one tablet ,it has XP Windows on it but it keeps telling me restore is turned off how do i turn it on?? when i uncheck it it jumps back to checked(turned off). It comes up Do I want to turn on restore yes or no I all ways say yes. alt+f10 dose not work for me because I cant get it in to restore that way.
