Acer Spin 5: Replaced Battery - Battery not working anymore

Hi folks,

Like the title says, I replaced the battery of my Acer Spin 5, with a new, original one.

But the new one was not really recognized, the battery LED was just flashing orange instead of just shining. I thought, Ok, maybe thats the way it is for a fresh new one,

but it just flashes (for hours) and at some point just stops flashing, but it is not charged at all.

The Laptop itself is working fine - as long as the power is plugged in. And he recognizes the battery with 0% charge. And that never changes.

There is also a battery reset button, which I pressed for 1 second, 2, 4 (which should be the right number), 10, 20 seconds ... with no success.

So I replaced it back to my old battery - which is indeed charging and the OS gives me accurate numbers - but he also can't use the battery anymore - meaning nothing works without plugged in powercable.

As a last hope I allready removed the cmos battery ... with no success.

Does anyone has an idea what else I could do, besides sending it to Acer?

Cheers,

Lukas

Acer Spin 3 SP314-54N: Acer spin 3 no power solid blue light then flashing orange

I have an acer spin 3 that suddenly won't turn on anymore. When plugged in, it's a solid blue light then 18 seconds later it flashes orange 1 time then goes back to solid blue. I have already tried holding the battery reset button as mentioned many times by other people and also disconnected battery and drained all power. I checked and my ac adapter and its fine putting out 19v. One weird thing I noticed is if I remove the cmos connector and hold the battery reset button and power button down for like 10 seconds then release and plug the cmos connector back in, the laptop fans spin and keyboard leds come on but then the laptop powers back off after 5 seconds. Cmos battery does show 3v.

Acer Spin 5: Battery not quite fitting ….

Bought a replacement battery for my Spin 5, 13”.

Same battery number, was able to install and power up, charge and calibrate the battery.

Problem with the laptop not closing with the new battery installed. Only difference on the old and new battery are 2 small tabs on the lower side of the new battery, that seems to prevent the bottom cover from properly snapping together. Screws work but small bulges in the cover.

Wondering if I should cut off the extra tabs on the new battery so the bottom cover will snap properly into place? Bottom tabs don’t seem to secure the battery in any way.

Acer Spin 5 N17W2: Screen turns on and off repeatedly not allowing me to use the laptop

After a minor accident, the power button of my laptop screen got pushed in. I was unable to turn on my laptop but it was charging. So, I got it fixed from a local computer repair place. They said the switch as missing and replaced it with a Travelmate switch they had. It was sort of precariously put back in place but at least I was able to turn on and use my laptop. But after a few weeks of irregular use, the outside button started to slip in and I was unable to turn it back on. After pushing the button a little more, the laptop screen lit up with a dull black colour and went back off in 2 seconds. This is my problem right now. The screen simply keeps lighting u (dull black) and turns off repeatedly with a gap of abut 5 seconds. Unable to make it work or turn it on. Can you help me identify the problem?

Acer Spin 3 SP315-51-757C: Why is my touchpad not working?

Today I turned on my laptop (Windows 10) and for some reason I couldn’t see my cursor anywhere and when I moved my touchpad nothing would move. When I plug in my USB mouse, the cursor comes up and I can use my mouse to move it, but the touchpad still isnt responding. I made sure that the touchpad setting is on, restarted my laptop and when I tried to update the driver for the touchpad, nothing was there apart from a few mouse settings. Ive tried the Fn buttons as well so I dont know what the next step from here is.

Acer Spin 3 SP315-51-757C: Why do my computer lights not flash?

Both my blue and orange lights on my Spin 3 aren’t flashing anymore. Usually they flash. I had some water damage with it, so that might be the problem. I have reset the battery many times now and that makes the orange light turn on, but the laptop screen doesn’t. I don’t here any fan noises either. The water spilled on the front of my laptop and not the back of it (I was on a plane and the water bottle was loosened) so that might be an advantage. I see dust and it looks dry so that might be good.
