My Acer I conga Tab A500 just shut off one day and won't turn back on. The power button lights up when it's on but otherwise nothing.

Acer customer service tells me that the on off switch is an integral part of the mother board and I need to replace the mother board at a cost of over $200. Is there a way to fix the switch or should I just trash it. My internet research indicates that this is a known problem with this unit but I have not yet found a solution.

i switch it on and it goes on and gets to a part where it shows its an acer and after that it goes to android

part then it stops there as if its frozen

Acer Iconia Tab A500: forgot pattern to unlock my tablet,did not set google account

I just got my tablet,and as I was going thru it,I set a dotted pattern to lock,unlock,since I just got it like I said before;the battery is just charging, I set the tablet to rest and charge while I went to eat ,thinking I would remember the pattern to unlock it,well I did not, I thougth that resetting the tablet by depressing the little hole that says 'reset' will help but no,it did not help at all. CAN ANY ONE WITH MORE TECH,EXPERIENCE HELP ME. It will be greatlly apreciated. By me,am a disable Veteran,with not alot of money to pay some one to restore my tablet,wich by the way I had it for quite some time,but didnot had a charger for it, today it finally arrived,and I was very ecxited to finally have a working tablet,....but due to my disabilitry,"PTSD" some times I forget things,and I forgot to writte down the pattern.
