If I press F2, I get a dialog box with Password/Unlock Key and the code 11DAA97B.

I am trying to get it to boot to CD so I can re-install Windows.

I tried entering a code from http://bios-pw.org, but it did not work.

Hopefully, somebody can help with this issue.

Why won't it charge at all, and yet why does it only turn on with the charger plugged in?

The green light on the charger lights up when the cord is plugged to the laptop, which means that charger is working. I think it may be the battery but ive tried to reset it and take it off the laptop and then put it back on several times but still the same result.

PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN, I'D GREATLY APPRECIATE IT! Thanks :)

I replaced the hard drive on a Acer Aspire V5-571 due to the old one crashed and couldn’t boot anymore. It was a windows 8 but i installed a hard drive that has windows 7 installed on it. Now when i’m trying to boot, i just get the message “operating system not found”. I can’t seem to get it into bios or anything.

I'll try to have second opinion but I'm scared that they could have same answer. I've tried googling for fan parts and it's available.

My mum has broken my laptop and there's visible damage on the edge near the keyboard where it's coming apart. When I turn it on it goes to this blue screen, not sure what it is but it doesn't turn on anymore. Prior to this it used to over heat I've had it since September 2015. I also have expensive software on it and some old work from my degree and was wondering if it gets fixed will it be wiped? Also, can you give me a quote?

The laptop is not Acer Aspire V5-571.

It's a Acer Aspire F5-571 i5 "15.6

Not sure why it's showing something different.

Note:

1) "I cleaned the fan and placed a thermal paste on the CPU".

2) I need the fan to be quiet because I want to record my voice on the PC. At this time I realized that I have a really noisy fan.

Anyway,

My laptop had updated and it was working slower than normal so I knew something was up, but then updated again and now it black screens with no mouse for an hour. Then it goes to the recovery settings, but as soon as you click on anything, it goes back to black screen and it just repeats like that.

No buttons work to bring anything else up ( F11, F5, F8, etc)

I have installed Intel 7260ac adapter and installed the necessary drivers. The adpater shows up in device manger as working properly.

The problem I am having is that I cannot enable the wireless capability to use the new adaptor.

I have tried the usual shortcut fn+f3, ran the troubleshooter, disabled and enabled the adapter in netowrk and sharing centre with no luck. If I re-install the original adapter from Broadcom everything works ok.

This post states that the laptop is compatible but im having my doubts now.

Acer Aspire v5-571P - Replace the network card?

I would really like to get this up and running rather than return the adapter so I can take advantage of my new router speeds.
