Acer Aspire 5742: Why does my laptop keep shutting on and off

whenever i start my laptop it just shuts off and starts back on again then it does the samething shut off over and over. I dont know what the problem is either the battery or something inside it

I set the bios password and hdd password in the bios menu.

Now I forgot tow to get the password / How to Erase the hdd?

Acer Aspire 5742: My laptop turns on then shuts off after a few seconds later

The power lights turn on and fans for a couple seconds. no display though and the machines cuts off right away. at most 3 seconds its on for. battery is fully powered. tried plugged to power charger without battery and with battery. Not sure what the problem is though

My laptop seems to heat up very quickly while I use it and it eventually shuts off. After waiting for a bit and turning my laptop on it repeats the same thing.

When I press the on button my laptop looks like it is powering on and the blue light comes on however the white screen comes on and beeps but just switches off again?
