Acer Aspire 5551: Powers on but screen is black

I haven’t used this laptop in years because of this issue. It was dropped flat (not on a corner) from roughly 3 feet. Definitely something internal, because I’ve tried plugging it in via HDMI to a monitor and it detects that I’ve plugged it in but it couldn’t display anything to the monitor. What could be the issue? How could I fix it myself?

EDIT: The laptop also will not turn on without the charger plugged in.

Acer Aspire 5551: Why is my screen turned opposite (black screen on white lettering)?

My screen a while back had suddenly switched to opposite colors (black screen on white lettering) yet it is not in the negative coloring due to graphics and icons remaining in their roygbiv colors. Aside from that, my laptop runs shockingly slow. I have only ever used it for school work such as research and typing papers. I'm hoping I could get some assistance in basically resetting the laptop in hopes that it could make the laptop run any faster or go back to its original colors. I also, from the beginning, have experienced Norton Online Backup and McAfee pop ups and I feel that had a ton to do with the processing speed.

Thank you

Acer Aspire 5551: Sound intermittently doesn't work, sometimes tabs need reloading

Hi,

The laptop model is slightly different to chosen as there wasn’t an option for it: Acer Aspire 515-51G-77DD.

I have had an issue recently where my sound will intermittently and under no seemingly obvious pattern, stop working on certain tabs. I will need to refresh once or a couple of times and it usually works again. Also, when this happens, if the video has its own audio level slider, I will not be able to move it and when I initially click the slider to move it, there will be sound for a split second and then I will be able to move it but the sound disappears and the slider will jump back to no sound, with no sound playing.

Additionally, perhaps related as it started a week or two after this issue, some tabs will go sort of ‘blank’ when I click off them. For example I open an excel sheet on teams and click on to another tab. Then when I click back onto the sheet tab, I can’t see the sheet and will need to reopen it, though the web address and sidebar will be correctly displayed. Other people working on the same sheets don’t have this problem.

Not sure if it’s possibly an ad on/virus/idk???

Please help/advise. TIA! :)

Acer Aspire 5551: Can I connect both my internal speakers to one output on mobo?

One of my internal speaker output sockets is broken so I’m wondering if it’s possible to wire both internal speakers to the same working output connection on the Motherboard? I know it’ll reduce the volume but will it blow the Mobo or the speakers too? Any help would be much appreciated as I can’t find anything online. Thanks

Acer Aspire 5551: Base unit coming apart at power jack entry port. Is this fixable?

laptop still functioning but base is separating into 2 layers at entry point of power point. This is worse if I open the lap top further so I am using it at 60 degrees open which is very awkward. I am scared the key board will peel off completely and the lap top will stop functioning.

Does it need a new hinge or is it for the bin?
