Abbott FreeStyle Libre: Freestyle Libre monitor dead after fall; second one must be charging

I have two freestyle libre glucose monitors (version 1).

One of them fell down the stairs and since then will not turn on.

The second was impolitely removed from the charging cable once, and since then will not turn on unless it is plugged into the charging cable.

I suspect it should be possible to

open them

at least for the "fall victim" one, sounds like maybe something got detached inside, so maybe, reattach it?

These things aren't that cheap (nothing compared to an iPhone though) so I, for one, would definitely be interested in guidance to try picking them apart and see if they can be fixed.
