Hello,

I have an ASUS GL503VD laptop and I have an issue with the battery.
The BIOS shows that my battery is 91% charged but when I unplug my laptop, it just stops…

The percentage of the battery is always 91% and does not change at all.

What I tried :

Factory reset

BIOS reset/update

Driver reset/update

Open the laptop to unplug/plug the battery connector

Can someone help me to solve this please ?

Thank you in advance.

ASUS ROG Strix GL503VD-DB71: Where do I get CPU replacement fan?

Hello,

I have an Asus ROG GL503GE laptop. Recently the CPU side fan has been making scary grinding noise. I have searched almost everywhere to get a replacement fan, I contacted Asus customer care. None could help me, even the customer care representative said the model was very old and they had no replacement fan :(

I badly need to get this fan fixed. Any idea which types of fan will it support? The CPU fan's part number was: FCN DFS2013121A0T, rated at 12V 1A.

Thanks :)

ASUS ROG Strix GL503VD-DB71: I turn it on, but in a few second, it turns off immediately

I really appreciate any kinds of help.

So i have Asus ROG GL503VD,

As i said on the title, i turn it on then in a few second it turns off immediately without even showing ROG logo.

Here are the events:

I hold the start button

The rainbow light below the keyboard starts glowing as usual, The light that show the battery condition (battery indicator light) is also glowing, The screen is still black.

Soon after, it turns off immediately. Also, i heard a laser gun star wars sound effect in the process. The rainbow light & the battery indicator light are turned off.

Before this thing happened:

I shutdown it by using start button (hot shutdown ? Idk the name really). I was in a hurry.

I’ve tried:

Plug out ac adapter. Anyway, i still can recharge the battery. I noticed the battery indicator lamp turned red (means not 100%), so i recharged it for a while, then it came back to white (100%)

Hold start button 40 sec

Plug out the drive (hdd) (Only the hard drive local disk D, not the ssd one, which is the local disk C).

Plug out the battery. It’s kind of complicated, because the battery can’t be plugged out easily (you know, there are some laptop that the battery can be plugged out easily, like you don’t have to open the body).

Plug in the ac adapter

Plug in the battery

Plug in the hdd

I’ve tried so many combinations

5 then 2, doesn’t work

5 then 1, doesn’t work

4 then 5, doesn’t work

3, 4 then 5, doesn’t work

3,4 then 6,7, doesn’t work

3,4 then 6,7 then 5, doesn’t work

And etc…

Please, i need your help guys, i’m not an official tech guy, i know little about this thing…

ASUS ROG Strix GL503VD-DB71: Won't turn on, no lights

It went dead after I took out the CMOS battery.

Before, the light would be on, when I tried to turn it on, but the screen remained black. In fact, it went black and freezed while I was AFK, and then the device would not reboot. I tried then replugging the charger and the main battery with the same result - lights on (at least the “lightbulb“ indicator), no boot. Then I did the same plus reinserting the CMOS battery (drained static with the power button), and now no lights even flicker.

I let it rest for a day without either battery, but it's still dead. I tried charger only (two different ones, in fact), and battery only, same result. I also checked the RAM modules, detached the HDD, and tried pretty much everything.

I suspect the main battery is the issue, but shouldn't the thing be able to run on AC only, with the battery detached? And what could go wrong with the CMOS battery reset?

ASUS ROG Strix GL503VD-DB71: Why my laptop doesn't detect my Graphics adapter?

After I’ve cleaned the fans and replaced the paste, after one month I’ve noticed that my graphic adapter is not being read. I’ve installed my Windows when I’ve done the cleaning and also all my drivers, including the graphic one and everything went smooth, but now it says that I don’t have a GPU. What should I do?

I remember I was very gentle with every part of my laptop, when I’ve clean it, just to avoid this kind of problems.

ASUS ROG Strix GL503VD-DB71: Took the back off to clean the fans, no power or charging lights etc

I took the back off the clean the fans, I usually do this every 6 months or so since I bought this in 2018 without issue. This last time I took the back off, disc the battery, it is unplugged of course, clean the fans and after putting it back together, no power, no charging light with or without the battery or charger in. Worked fine before I cleaned it and not my first time doing so, so what could be the issue and has this happend with this model with others before?

ASUS ROG Strix GL503VD-DB71: I have gl502vt and it crashes after some minitues.

i don’t know the reason or root so i am just going to write the problems.

1.it crashes with no specific interval

2.sometimes it make buzzing sound while freezing

3.when i try to shut down it work properly but if i use restart than it will stop at asus logo and than nothing.

and this 4th point may be the reason (i don’t know really)

4.i have new power cable for adapter, so sometime when i try to plug in ,it instantly freeze ,than i have to shut it down by pressing power button,

and when i try to work on with only laptop battery it work most of the time fine without freeze

but to counter there was once when it started to work perfectly without any freeze for month even with the power cable and than windows update came and i have to update and shut down and all the problem started again.

i try to uninstall last window update but i still got the same freezing problem.

i am very confused what is the reason for such freeze

i have try some methods like

when freeze happens

i forcefully shutdown laptop than i start and again i shut down it with proper shutdown method. most of the time it works until the battery dies than i charge my laptop and after that when it charged completely i use it without power cable.
