ASUS MeMo Pad FHD10: Asus tablet not charging

My ASUS ME302C tablet stopped charging the battery 2-3 weeks back. Tried various tricks but nothing worked. Finally now i am able to charge my battery by jump-start method. I removed the battery, cut the mobile charger wire, directly attached the charger wires to battery for 2 hours. This way my battery got good 40% charge. Then i put it back in tablet. And tablet worked fine.

Now the problem is the regular chargers are not charging the battery. It show the charging symbol but battery %age never goes up. Tried various adapters, wall sockets, PC/laptop nothing works.

I installed one app (current widget-battery monitor) to check battery current and found strange behavior. As soon as i put the charger (any charger) to the tablet, the current value shows 0mA, otherwise it shows 500-600mA 3.8V on 17% charge.

I think, my battery is fine as i am able to charge it with jump-start method. Also battery drains/performs normally.

Also USB Charging port should be good too (not sure on this), as i am able to transfer data through usb from tablet to computer. Plus charging symbol also shows up on tablet when the charger is plugged in.

So what is wrong, what is causing the current to read 0mA (no current) when i put the tablet to charging?

ASUS MeMo Pad FHD10: Ghost touches under pressure after replacing digitizer

Hello. Thank you for looking at my question. I replaced the glass/digitizer and LCD on my ASUS MEMOpad FHD 10 and now it is detecting false touches in somewhat specific areas of the screen if I press too hard. I should have just purchased the glass/LCD assembly together, but my original plan was to carefully separate the bad cracked glass/digitizer from the good LCD, but I accidentally cracked the LCD because I performed the process incorrectly in some areas. So I already had the glass/digitizer I purchased from eBay and now I had to buy a used OEM LCD from eBay. So I received the LCD and installed it into the tablet, cleaned it off carefully with distilled water, and for the digitizer (I am not so sure if this was that good of an idea in retrospect) I also cleaned the underside of the digitzer glass with distilled water and as clean of a microfiber cloth as I could get. Then I used this doubled sided digitizer tape to stick the digitizer to the tablet and secure the LCD and digitzer. The final result looked alright, although the LCD was slightly misaligned, but it has a problem where there are ghost touches if you press too hard on the screen. It may also ghost touch without any interaction with the tablet if the tablet is tilted a specific way, and before doing something to the tablet it would ghost touch if you held it from the back (that is fixed somehow now). I have tried the reseating the ribbon cable connector trick and taping the ribbon cable to the metal frame in case it's a grounding issue with electrical tape (the original was a silver reflective tape that held the cable to the metal frame, not sure there is a difference). Have not tried the knife blade around the glass trick. I don't think it is a bad connection because it happens under pressure, although I don't know much so I shouldn't even be saying anything. I am pretty sure the LCD is OEM but not sure about the digitizer. It has the ASUS logo and looks like it's OEM but has a strange dot pattern visible under bright light that I'm pretty sure the old one didn't have. Can somebody help me? I would really appreciate it. :)

ASUS MeMo Pad FHD10: Ghost touches even when unplugged

Hi everyone,

My Android tablet (ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 ME302C) is showing ghost touches either when plugged in or plugged out, no matter if the battery is lightly, half or fully charged.

I enabled "Show touches" and "Pointer location" in "Developer options" and the behavior is as follows:

when tablet boots up, little to no ghost touches

after just a few seconds, it starts ghost touching all over the screen

when I rotate the tablet at 90/180/270/360°, it seems to me the ghost touches are even more severe

I also tried the following actions:

cleaning up the tablet with a dry cloth

resetting the tablet to factory defaults

removing the sd card

charging the tablet with several AC adapters

letting the battery ran out and charging it again

opening the tablet and disconnect the digitizer (the ghost touches stop but so does the whole touch screen)

pluging back in the digitizer and thus, "force" a touch screen calibration (shows a "ASUS Calibration in progress" dialog)

opening the tablet and disconnect/reconnect the battery

opening the tablet and disconnect the motherboard, battery and speakers and plug them back in

Unfortunately, the issue is still present and I am asking for advice. Should I try replacing the digitizer, battery and/or screen and, if so, is there any "guarantee" that it will resolve the ghost touches? Or should I resign myself and simply buy another tablet?

Thanks anyone for your time and advice.

ASUS MeMo Pad FHD10: My tablet ghost touches when I apply pressure to the sides of glass

Hello, I replaced the LCD/digitizer of my tablet and now it has ghost touch problems. It will send touch input in a specific area near the top of screen below where the LCD ends when I hold it on my palm in a specific way, or it will ghost touch very crazily in an almost grid pattern in 5 or 7 spots in the middle of the screen when I apply some pressure to the bezel where the digitizer/glass is but the LCD isn't. If it starts touching on its own, I can apply pressure to the bezel which will cause it to go crazt in the center of the screen, but once I stop pressing, it stops pressing on its own. The LCD was taken directly out of another ME302C tablet for sure, because it still had the adhesive on it from when it was taken out. The digitizer is supposed to be OEM, looks new, and has the ASUS logo, but it has a grid pattern of tiny dots on it which the old one did not so I am not too sure. Otherwise it looks legitimate. The digitizer worked perfectly as far as I could tell when I tested it before installing it, but it was not in the frame, just resting on top of it when I tested it, and it had a protective plastic sticker on the back too. Before I installed the digitizer, I used a microfiber cloth for glasses and some distilled water to clean the side of the digitzer underneath. After installing lcd and digitizer I noted LCD was slightly lower than it should be but not by much, but the border of the LCD with the adhesive on it is slightly visible under the glass. I've tried reseating the ribbon cable, which did not help, and I used electrical tape to tape the ribbon cable to the metal frame of the tablet and LCD cable, but to no avail. I lost the original gray colored tape that held the digitizer ribbon cable to the frame and LCD cable, which I presume is electrical cable. Can you give me any help?
