ASUS GL752VW-DH74: How to fix ribbon cable attachment to touchpad

I opened my laptop to clean dust out and while prying the keyboard open two of the three ribbon cables came undone on their own. I've fixed one (the skinny one on the right when you're facing the screen) but the one leading to the touchpad (skinny white one on the left) possibly broke? The end connected to the motherboard with a snap in latch is still attached, it's the other end that attaches to the touchpad may be broken (there's no way to snap it in - did I break that?) The cable itself seems intact and the end of the cable has the silver metal lines that make the connection.

The computer works fine except for the touchpad being completely dead. I haven't been able to find a picture of what it should look like when attached.

Any help is appreciated! I'd rather fix this myself than take it in someplace.

Images of reattached ribbon wire - my partner slid it in metal pieces up but the touchpad does not work. There's no clip on this attachment.

This is the side that remained attached to the motherboard.

UPDATE:

Looks like we slid it in upside down, and I think the pins are now bent. Thinking I need to replace the touchpad now. There seems to be no way to slide it in and taping the ribbon wire down doesn't work.

ASUS GL752VW-DH74: Keyboard won't power on after water spill

About 5 days ago I spilled water on my keyboard and turned it over and let it dry out and it turned on, but it would randomly go to sleep, so I turned it off and turned it upside down to dry for longer. The next day I came back and it wouldn’t turn on at all, but when I plug it in the charging light on the front lights up. Could my computer still have a chance to run again and the water have just messed up the keyboard?

ASUS GL752VW-DH74: Trouble finding part number

So I have been struggling to find a clear and concise answer on which logic board for the GL752VW-DH74 supports NVMe. On the official ROG forums and in the owners manual, it is stated that models sold in North America support a SATA M.2 SSD, and models sold in Europe support a NVMe M.2 SSD. My question is how do I find the part number for the board sold in Europe, as I want to buy the logic board that supports NVMe. Any help is appreciated!!

ASUS GL752VW-DH74: Wont turn on after power surge.

My brother has a piece of music equipment that created a power surge somehow through the power strip that it was plugged into and the laptop was plugged into that as well…

The laptop now only comes on with the charging LED and the power LED but nothing else. Theres a chip between the two hard drives that gets very hot but that’s about it. No fans, no disc drive movements, no beeps, no video (internal and external).

This morning the charging indicator was blinking too, but has stopped after I unplugged it and plugged it back in.

ASUS GL752VW-DH74: Backlit Keyboard Asus ROG G752VW Not Working (Not ATK Package)

Hi everybody,

I am new to this forum and hope you may help me with my problem. I am currently owning an Asus ROG g752vw since nearly 3 years and, recently, my laptop is not backlit anymore. It used to work perfectly and one day just stopped to do so.

Just for your information, I have opened my laptop multiple times to clean it, check on a fan issue and fix a display issue (the display kept jumping when I was typing, showing flashes of light lines appearing and disappearing), although it never caused any problem to the keyboard.

I have done multiple research on how to fix the problem, and I am well aware of the ATK package. Yet after trying to install the 0.39, 0.40, 0.5 and finally 0.6 version, it nevers solved the problem. Thus, it made me wonder if I hadn't a broken stub (as explained by another user on this forum). By the way, one day it suddenly worked again for a few minutes while I was playing a game, and then stopped once more.

Do you have any ideas of what I could do, besides sending it back to Asus support (not under warranty anymore) ? Do you know how I could check if the stub is the problem or if it is a software problem ?

I don't really know what to add to this post to help you have a better understanding of the situation as I don't know what would be useful, but I will try anything you propose.

Thanks all. :)
