700R4 transmission: Is the 700R4 interchangeable with the Turbo 350?

Probably I will get nailed for this one, but here goes.

I have a 1986 Chevy K20 Pickup. It originally came with a Turbo-Hydramatic 350 transmission. It has a 700R4 installed now, which is shot. Will I be able to re-install a T350 with no other wiring or tubing modifications? Should I just be safe and find another 700r4 and throw it in?

Off computer topic I know, but hey do I care? There is a big knowledge base out there.

Regards,

700R4 transmission: Help with setting the 700r4 tv cable.

I have a 1972 Corvette that I put a 700r4 transmission in and have a question. I have been trying to adjust the tv cable as everyone has told me to Push down on the release tab and push the center tab in on the end of the cable, then go to full throttle and it should then set the cable to the correct setting meaning the center tab should click into place. Mine is free and moves easy, its a new cable and its being put on an Edelbrock duel guad carb setup. However it doesn't click out at all, no movement. Does that mean that it's set and doesn't need anything further? Or does it mean that the throttle lever and tv cable end aren't traveling far enough? I have went so far as to pulling on the cable end to see if it will click out and it does.

700R4 transmission: Won't shift into gear.

I installed a rebuilt transmission from a reputable company along with a used (freshen up with new seals) transfercase and new standard torque converter. I put a quart in the torque converter before install, 6qts in the transmission before startup. I ran the engine till warmup checking the fluid in the process. I moved the shifter through all the gears and back. When i went to put it in park sounded like the transmission was rotating because of the grind on the parking pin. My question is the truck does not shift into gear either forward or reverse could it be the transmission or transfer case? Do i need to readjust the TV cable? I double and triple check all connections.
