1998-2003 Mazda Protege: Heater only blowing out front vents, no heat to feet or defrost. Why?

Heater working but only blows out front vents. No heat to feet or defrost. Before replacing Heater Control Unit, it would only blow hot air from front vents- With this replacement it will now change from cold to hot and the air flow pressure does change from the front vents when changing the setting dial but there is still no air at all to feet and defrost. Can anyone tell me if there is a louver or valve that could be jammed and where to locate it? Or what else to try? Thanks!

'99 Mazda 323 Protege.

Manual, fuel-injected, 4cyl.

Engine code: CE04D16

ok so just recently started having troubles with the car. It ran fine then all of a sudden I lost what felt like 15-25% power, and the engine felt like it was shaking a little.

When revving, then engine would shudder. Idle rev went from just over 1000 to around 500. there was very little pickup when increasing speed. I can only assume it lost a cylinder. Now for the last couple days it has been jumping backwards and forwards, from regular to slow.

What is the problem, can I fix this myself, or do I need to take it to a mechanic?

What cause this problem ? Idle move from 600 rpm to 1100 and drop to 400 and back to 1000 non stop. ?

All explain are approximative value.

The model is Mazda protege 2002, 2.0 Lit

The ODB read a alarm code miss fire.

Some people think that could be a timing belt problem

The mileage is around 109 k km

Pretty much as stated, my car is having trouble actually driving. My check engine light isn’t on, I’ve replaced my air filter and cleaned my maf. It’s just happened all of a sudden and I can’t figure out what the problem is. Didn't see an option to select my car but it's a 97 Mazda Protege.

I changed the oil making sure it is synthetic 10w30,replaced the fuel rail pulsation dampener,Checked timing belt and tensioner check out fine but it will not go above 2500 rpm and it acts like it is missing,it is a manual 1.8liter 16value

Why does my 1999 Mazda protege 1.6 hesitate to go when i accelerate immediately after any immediate stop? Is it something to do with ignition coil? I did hear a spark noise from the ignition coil area when i checked. Please advice me.
