1988-1998 GMC Pickup: wiring problems with turn signals and running lights,.

I have a 1998 GMC Sonoma pickup that has been sitting for 1 1/2 years. left turn signal blinks rapidly while right TS is ok. If I put on running lights, both turn signals blink rapidly. and the taillights blink strange and then stop all together. The license plate lights were also blinking, I removed the bulbs and taillights still the same. inspected under the rear of the truck and found nothing disturbed. Changed electronic flasher and no changes. If running lights are off, right turn signals operate normally, but left side blinks rapidly. Suspect a ground problem, but ground on rear of frame look good and connected.

1988-1998 GMC Pickup: Misses like it's drawing moisture.

This is on a '97 GMC Sierra. I'll give it a complete tune up and in about three to four months it starts doing it again. I've been around and worked on vehicles most of my life and this has me puzzled. I have heard it could be anything from the computer to the coil or even a bare wire. I hate to keep changing everything every couple of months, and, besides, I can't afford it.

All other lights work fine. I know it works with turn signal lights but how are they connected. Wire harness (by this I mean the 4 wire plug under rear of bed doesn't have a opening for the brake wire which is the 5th wire that runs along the chassis with the turn, back up,and running lights.please help before I set on fire.
